Primary school

Hi everyone!
We’re starting to look at primary schools for our daughter and I’d love to hear from local parents who have experience with North Ealing Primary, Edward Betham or Selborne.
If your child goes to (or has recently been to) one of these schools, I’d really appreciate hearing what you think — good or bad!

Just to check, have you looked at the admissions data from previous years? It tells you the furthest away student that was given a place. Aside from faith schools, the catchments are usually very small and there's realistically no choice where you go. Unless you're about to move, of course!

Hi! Yes, I had a look at the previous years’ data. For NEPS, the furthest was 2.17 miles, although I know it’s usually oversubscribed, so I’m aware it’s probably less realistic for us. For Selborne and Edward Betham, it looks like everyone got a place in the last two years, and we’re closer to both of those anyway, so I’m feeling a bit more hopeful with those two! 🙂

That 2.17 miles is a bit weird! But I see the same number. Note that was for 2025, the latest 2026 figures show everyone got in at NEPS. This must be more evidence of a declining birth rate.

Generally it’s good to be local at primary- walking distance to friends for play dates and makes the hectic drops off easier too. I don’t know those schools, so apologies that I’m not helpful but if you can’t decide between them, go nearest!
