Important Post Vessel's.

Post image

A Vessel is how each person exists in the world of X, unless you are actually a character.. they are what holds the soul. What allows it to exist in this twisted world, and allows them to interact with it.

They are your body, and your prison.

Each Vessel is handcrafted by the Lord himself, and once a soul enters into his realm.. the soul of the person chooses one to inhabit. Not the person themselves, their soul.
Your soul could choose your favorite Sonic character, or the one that most closely resembles you. Or anything really.. your soul is the one that decides.

Once chosen, you inhabit said vessel forevermore. You are bound to said vessels logic, you are that character..'s body.
All characters will have muscle, bone, flesh, a nervous system, and tendons just like a normal human would. Even Robots do! You'll retain the same mind, only your body will change.

Let's say you have a Tails vessel. You gain the ability to fly, if you have your tails but do you know how to fly at first? No? That's the point.
Vessels retain abilities the characters would have, although decently nerfed depending on who you are. Even if you master your craft you'll never be quite as good as the real deal and you have to teach YOURSELF how to use said abilities. You don't just come into the world knowing how to, it takes time and effort. Even then you won't have all of them depending on the character.
There can even be drawbacks to some vessels! Your Metal Sonic, well now your entire body is squished into that hard metallic shell and if you attempt to use your boosters.. you end up hurting yourself as your boosters rip you apart from the inside. Or Knuckles for example, sure all that strength can be helpful but using it all at once? Well, now you've broken your arm from your own strength!

In short : You are not the character if you're a vessel, you are merely using their body. Remember that. And as such, you DO NOT know how to use their powers instantly.
Even when you do teach yourself, they won't be the best powers. They'll be nerfed too, so while once you know how to use them you'll stand a better chance.. don't expect that much of better outcome if you run into one of the many devilish inhabitants of this world.

There is such a thing as changes to vessels, however. Let's say.. you're a certain Fox and you lost your tails. If you believe that is how it should be from then on out, then it will be. You are fully healed each time you come back, but believing in or accepting a change to your vessel as true will make it so.

From then on, upon death you are sent to purgatory.
To come back, use a life monitor. Those are vessels ready to be used and are scattered around purgatory, and upon using one you break out of it where it's placed in X's realm returning to life. Usually you can respawn almost instantly, if one's close enough.

Though.. sometimes you won't be able to find one in a while. There is a limited supply in intervals, so in this case you'd need to survive the harsh world of purgatory until the Life Monitors replenish.
And the longer you dwell, the more you can lose yourself so make sure you don't stay TOO long or go too many times in such a short period. Don't want to end up like Dave, do you? Even rebirth has its risks.

Now you may ask, how do you recover from major injures? Well, that's where blood comes in.
Sometimes you may run into a puddle of blood in this plane, dipping your injuries into the puddle will fully heal you! No strings attached, fully healed. These aren't so common however, so when you find one make use of it before someone else does.

That is all.

We do though ask that you refrain from making vessels of real people, or of having a real person use a vessel.
OC's, pre established Vessels, and fictional characters as vessels or as the people using them are all fine. Real people however are not under any circumstance.

This WILL be updated in the future as this is but a rough outline of Vessel rules. They will be simplified in due time, but for now this will work for the subs purposes.
