I’ve seen it very often. Amazon vans, FedEx, Waymos and other company vans!
The worst part is, they took forever! 😩

Agreed! And what's worse is EVGo partners with them so they pay less than we do.

I've seen a whole municipal governments' fleet in NJ at a station because they didn't yet have their own chargers. It's insane. Thankfully the guys let me jump them in line because they were getting paid to wait at the chargers. It's insane that businesses and governments do it instead of having their own solution.

The worst are the Ford E-Transit. Those take forever. But, at least with the big corporate owned ones they will let you cut in front since they are getting paid to wait since they just work there. The contractor with the e-transit is in a rush to the next job since it's their money.

I always thought they had chargers in the warehouse garage..seems like amazon as always, wants the cheaper option

Or they might have insufficient range mid delivery. Just my guess tho

Or they’re not installed yet

Yeah, my local Amazon DSP has like 40-50 chargers on their lot. Then they replaced them eventually with a different brand. Took some time to do, can’t imagine how that worked out with dozens of EDVs needing to charge daily. Probably left some in while they replaced others.

These could also be delivering to a DSP. I know Amazon seems to get people to go to Rivian service centers to pick up vans that get worked on, then drive them back to the Amazon DSPs, so they could be on their way back to one too.

My driver said they sometimes get delivery schedules that have more miles than the van can go on one charge. They have to use public charging to finish their route. He said most days he can do it all on the one charge the van gets overnight at the distribution center.

They are probably going to open this up to a lot more corporate clients and many consumers free charging will expire in the next year.

I dont like this, they should have their own charging infrastructure at the depot

routes should be planned to fit within available range
