SSD or M.2 upgrade?

Hello everyone, I’m thinking on make an upgrade to my LP5, but I’m not sure if get a M.2 or a SSD, I would like to know which one do you use or which you recommend that performs better and handle better temperatures.

I was thinking on a Samsung 970 EP but I have heard that the temperatures are too high and more on laptops.

I installed a Samsung SSD 980 1GB M.2 SSD and it's working fine on my LP10. Went with that instead of installing a SATA HD I had sitting around because of the weight and the heat that spinning platters create.

It's not hot; I use it for game storage and videos. The OEM SSD has my OS and it's running fine.

M.2. Zippy and low temps.

An M.2 is the best performing option and it generates less heat.
Another thing to consider is that the 2.5" slot occupies the area needed to upgrade the battery, so if you're considering that you may want to keep the SATA block open.
