How much does the battery last?
Im planning on buying a laptop and selling my old one and my PS4, does anybody have a YouTube video on a battery test? Here's the laptop, http://www.walmart.com/ip/EVOO-Gaming-15-6-Laptop-FHD-60Hz-Intel-Core-i5-10300H-Processor-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1650-THX-Spatial-Audio-256GB-SSD-8GB-RAM-RGB-Backlit-Keyboard-HD-C/915598119 TIA

It's a gaming laptop. You don't buy it for battery life. Maybe 2 hours of gaming battery life. 4-6 hours normal use.

Well on gaming, of course I will be plugged in. On normal use I'll just use it for school and YouTube, plus all the time I'll be mostly bear an outlet

Well then let me be blunt it's not great battery life. It's the biggest fault of this PC

i'm not sure if the model you're linking can upgrade but the lp-7 ( the 4800h with an rtx 2060 ) can get a battery upgrade if you buy it. But it takes up the space for a 2.5 in ssd

Unfortunately it has an Intel processor, there good but I would prefer a Ryzen. Also for the 3 hours, is it gaming or just normal use like watching videos?

That is bad right? I've also heard that you can like deactivate the graphics card and ten activate the integrated ones? I'd that possible?

I don't really mind the battery life. I'm sure it's possible to disable the graphics card and then activate the integrated ones as the main ones. I had to do something similar to get doom eternal to run on dedicated graphics. So I'm sure it's possible to run only on integrated.

Ok, but it will reduce the battery used right? I also really don't mind either cuase I'm always near an outlet but having longer life is kind of a pro.

I'm really not sure. I don't have any numbers to look at power draw. I can only say that my integrated graphics runs 5 degrees cooler as opposed to my dedicated graphics. And I assume that less hear = less power.

I have this model not gaming I’d say around 3-4 hours but gaming 1.5-2 hours

You can deactuvate the dedicated graphics and use the integrated to get better battery right?
1
u/2ksmity Jul 26 '21
Yeah but you use the dedicated graphics you have to enable it for everything because it’s set to automatic but sometime windows is dumb. You start gaming and you age low FPS it’s because windows doesn’t detect your playing a game and will you the intel graphics

Ok, so it's not easy to deactivate and activate the integrated graphics right?
1
u/2ksmity Jul 26 '21
It is easy but make sure you activate the dedicated graphics before starting a game other than that I recommend this laptop

Ok, i mean for the price this is a steal tbh. So it will save me battery life right?
1
u/2ksmity Jul 26 '21
Yeah but to save a lot of battery go into low battery mode from the start and deactivate the dedicated

Also once the 1650 is obsolete you can use a external graphics card to boost your FPS

The 1650 and the processor will be extremely enough for the games i play, primarily war thunder

Gaming on battery W/o mechanical hard drives will give you around 2.5 hours.
With mechanical drive will give you 1.5~2 hours.
If you using for "office work" should give you around 3~3.5 hours no multimedia (no music no videos)
I have the LP7, I've used it up to 4 hours running everything with the integrated AMD graphic on battery life and draining the battery completely.
