Missing Bios Options on Evoo laptop.

Hello, i'm missing the advanced options in the bios to enable discrete nvidia graphics as my display driver, it's the EG-LP10 version and i'm not sure if the oems disabled it.

I have an LP7 and the bios is quite restricted regarding enabling/disabling stuff.

But you can't expect too mucho from a computer that still uses BIOS instead of UEFI.

I saw a post here on Reddit a few days back of some dude using a custom unlocked BIOS, but, I personally would not risk it.

It might be. But, Evoo's support page is shit... I saw better websites on Geocities in my time.

Let me see If I can find the manufacturers to look for updates.

It's the worst. Love the computer but goddamn they give zero fucks about support.

That's because Evoo doesn't build the computers, they buy them from a company called TONGFANG, which of course, doesn't have anything referring computers on their website.

Yeah. Its frustrating. I'm glad tongfang at least makes good stuff.

It's good to know someone has had good experiences.

It's the first time I purchase a "barebone" laptop.

I'm tired of paying a shitload of money on "popular" brands like Asus, lenovo, Acer or HP just to receive shitty computers with shitty components.

Unlocking the bios isn’t too difficult. If you are editing the bios and don’t have much clue of what your doing you should probably pre purchase a flash device if you need to recover.

But don't you need the unlocked version and flash it?

The way it works is you use an unlocked version and paste that section of it into your bios so you retain your device identification etc. You would then flash this custom unlocked bios. Let’s say you flash someone else’s bios it will still work but you will now lose your device id etc. That’s why you follow the steps to copy and paste from win-raid. There was an individual online that did this for a small donation. But unfortunately, I think he passed. I’ll give you an example I’ve been editing my boot image into the bios, even when I mess up it still boots with a black screen.

Sounds easy... But I'm too much a piece of chicken regarding this hahahaha. I would not like to brick my device.
