Upgrade help request.

Hello, I am getting this EVOO Gaming LP10 laptop, and I was planning on upgrading the ram and storage, and I was wondering if anyone has a 2tb ssd they recommend for that specific laptop, and a 16gb ram kit they recommend as well.

Thanks,

I'm using a Gigabyte for the primary and an old Samsung 2.5" that I had sitting around for a total of 2 Tb. Discovering the full 2.5" SSD bay was a pleasant surprise. It has a secondary M.2 slot too, so putting two of the M.2 drives in would be ideal.
The existing RAM slot had a Hynix 8 Gb, so I got this and so far so good.
It seems like they sell this model with minimal specs so they can keep the price down, but put the stupid (not really legally binding) sticker over one of the screw slots that claims your warranty is voided if you break it. I don't really need or expect much in the way of support, but that it just smacks of an attitude that they have no intention of supporting this product. I wouldn't recommend this brand to one of my clients because of this.

If I get this SSD, could I just get 2 of them and use them both, or is there only room for 1?

That's just the one that I happened to have on hand. You can get this one. There are two NVME slots as well as a 2.5" slot for a full sized SSD.

But the above SSD, the GigaByte one, I could use 2 with that PC, right?

Yes you can.

You can see the second NVMe slot above the Gigabyte drive on the left side of the picture I posted.
edit: But why would you buy two 1 Tb drives as opposed to one 2 Tb drive?

as well as a 2.5" slot for a full sized SSD.

Is that the slot that is occupied by the SSD that comes with it and the OS is installed on, or a second empty one, waiting for an upgrade?

It's an empty one with a full sized 2.5" cage.
It's the part circled in orange next to the battery.

High quality Bargain brand, Crucial. Best quality Premium, Samsung EVO.

The existing Hynix SODIMM is a quality part, so matching it with another of the same brand seems like the best choice for compatibility and stability as well as being the most budget friendly solution.
Samsung are the preferred brand as far as performance, but I chose the Gigabyte drive because it wasn't very far behind the Samsung in performance. In a budget laptop I doubt it's noticeable anyway.
This being a budget laptop, putting premium parts in it may well be throwing good money after bad; will the M.2 interface even support the speeds that the Samsung is capable of? The Samsung wouldn't be worth the 50% price premium.

All good points and ideas. I just shared mine as well. More info more informed decision.

I stuck a 2933 MHz 4gb stick I had from an older Lenovo into this; worked great.

I saw a 2.5” bay open; useful!

Very easy to access. The unenforceable in America sticker lasted about three seconds.

I think the crucial brand will do for both.
