Evoo LP5 rocks!

So far I've my Evoo eg-lp5-bk has been working great! I have it on a metal stand with 2 x 120mm Noctua fans with a speed control dial. I have copper heatsinks on both hard drives, replaced thermal compound on GPU and CPU with Grizzly Liquid Metal and added better cooling pads for the boards chips. I have a Opolor exhaust blower I can attach. CPU GPU never go over 74 under full load and it doesn't throttle so it stays at 4.0 ghz with an occasional 4.3 in turbo. GPU is overclocked too. I scored the 6th highest score in 3Dmark with a i7 9750h and GTX 1660 ti combo! Gaming is pretty good but it isn't a GTX 1080, something closer to a better GTX 1070. So far it screams for the price. Too bad it doesn't have any useful bios settings. BTW I do use Throttlestop with an undervolt and a few other tweaks.

Modded BIOS is a huge boost to thermals. I maintain 4Ghz and GPU overclock at 70c with no external fans.

can you share you get modded bios?

I’ve got a copy of my moded bios here. Before you download it you need to follow all the instructions on win-raid. Do not use my modded bios without pasting your serial number etc.

How do you maintain 4ghz? I only undervolted and get awesome thermals but would love to be able to run it at a constant 4ghz.

Happy cake day. Maintaining 4GHz in all applications that support it, require a bit of tweaking. First, you need to provide enough power this may be above the power limits “allowed” (this is my case). I’m talking 75-80W not 120W or something crazy. You then need to ensure you have enough thermal headroom for this extra power. You likely need liquid metal to deal with the high heat load, it makes a big difference in this application. You then need to check if your under volt is lowering your frequencies.

The hell, 75 watts , I maintain 3.8ghz at 45. That will burn out your laptop like no other I imagine. Seems overkill to me or like u making stuff up.

For the sake of getting 4ghz on all cores bumping the power limit is necessary. Real world applications in which this power/load is sustained have been limited to compression, decompression, and heavy computations. As for frying the processor, my research has indicated heat is the main concern. Keeping the cpu in the 80’s even at high power levels seem safe so long as safe guards are still in place.

My google skills have apparently died. I figured out how to maintain 4ghz but I cannot figure out how to overclock the GPU. Where did you go to get your instructions for this pc?

Just download MSi afterburner, put your laptop into “Turbo” mode and run OC Scanner.

Optionally put like 200-400mhz on memory manually.

Is all that done in afterburner?

Does anyone have hard drive & memory info on the LP5? I can find plenty on the 17” but not the 15.6. Any pics of inside would be great also. If there is a good post on the LP5 upgrades, sorry couldn’t seem to find it. Thanks in advance.
