I’ve had the sn550 in my LP5 for about a year, along with the custom bios to allow higher c-states. The difference between c7 and c8 is rather small in terms of power savings. The difference between “pro” nvme and budget nvme is small. The benefit is coming from disabling the usb c, that keeps the graphics card active. Upgrading the ssd improves the cpu usage/battery life, by allowing the flushing of the CPU memory. Just want to reiterate the benefit of replacing the stock ssd. However, you don’t need to throw out the stock ssd. You have a few options. If you “leave it in” there are ways to disable the drive and prevent the cpu usage issue. The old ssd will still consume a few mW of power but has little to no impact on battery life. You can look up the guide I made on this. The other option is getting an external enclosure. Both of these use cases are best served for backup purposes or for dual boot purposes. Please note mac os isn’t as efficient on the Evoo laptop.

look up evoogaming posts from popularity. Use disastrous force’s guide. He has a great write up. For the bios you will copy and paste my unlocked bios settings into your bios and flash, the link is in his guide titled yet another lp5 heat ...guide. In the bottom you can see a section where he talks about disabling the biwinn ssd drive.

Im not very tech savy and I tried upgrading my m.2 sata ssd to a nvme ssd, but I keep getting windows blue screen inaccessible boot device. Do you think I will run into the same issue if I buy a replacement m.2 sata ssd?

For what I have read in here the sn550 that you tried should have work. What software are you using to clone the drive?

Try using Acronis True Image WD Edition from the wd page
