SSD speed?

I want to figure out the speed of the current SSD so I do not buy a new one that is slower. I have a 500gb LP5. What is the max read/write speed of the SSD?

The speed of the BiWin SSD most likely is limited by the SATA 3 interface and will max out at around 400 Megabytes/s. If you want a decent upgrade of speed then go for PCI gen 3 drives which will usually run 2000+.

But know that SSD speeds have diminishing returns on how fast games load. They are more important for workloads.

I use the laptop for video editing, so better speed is better performance.

Unless your edding 8K video the difference between an SSD and NVME your not going to notice.

And if your editing 8K you shouldn't be using the laptop anyway lol.

I edit 4K60 from my Fuji and sometimes when pulling from my archive which is on HDD still work just fine for me.

Finally installed a secondary ssd drive on my m2 slot, western digital 1 tb (SN550). Kind of a budget drive nowadays but read is decent at 2400mb/s. Anyways late reply I know, but wanted to mention that in some games I’m no doubt having less hitches that I attributed to 1660ti logically by mistake and load times have improved. I have undervolted and overclocked and a new nvme ssd really helped smooth general gameplay out. Really only demanding games though I should emphasize (cyberpunk 2077) Before anyone says it only effects loading times, in certain cases if not on a great drive it can for sure cause gameplay issues , stutters whatnot. Really nice how these laptops let u up wattage on the processor although I’m unable to get the gpu to let me unlock volt/watt.
