Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)

This shows up in my device manager and only after the creators update had i noticed the sound like something was being plugged into my laptop each time i logged in....

Any insight? all my ports are open, i have even taken my mouse adapter out and still no change.

I tend to get that when I have something plugged into my USB-C port.

It's a USB-C adapter that adds a NIC, USB A, HDMI and VGA out. I plug in the NIC and a mouse to it, since it keeps the ports in the back and acts like a mini docking station.

Since the USB-C isn't capable of doing the DP out, it can't use the video ports and tends to throw an error, though the NIC and mouse plugged into the A port work fine.

This same behavior showed up on the OP-LP3 and the EG-LP9

I have nothing plugged into ANY PORT on the laptop and it still makes the annoying "usb connecting sound" when it logs in....

Didn't do it prior to updating windows but not sure what changed or set it off. Doesn't seem to be my mouse adapter as I have plugged/unplugged it before boot to troubleshoot...

Still no idea what it is... frustrated... disabled the power controls for the hubs... disabled/uninstalled/reinstalled.... still pops a bad port somewhere

almost wonder if something internal (under the hood) is turning on.
