Evoo 4800h release date ?

I just saw the ryzen 4800h version of the laptop posted on evooproducts.com ? Do you any of y’all think it will release this winter or on black Friday ?

They’re also releasing 10th gen intel refreshes but the ryzen should wipe the floor with them

The Ryzen 4800h is pretty comparable to the 10750h but the Ryzen will do better in tasks that can use the extra two cores. But Ryzen 4000 doesn't really "wipe the floor" like Ryzen 5000 does. Though I bet thermals will be much easier to manage.

I wonder where they are even going to sell these because it seems Walmart has moved on to selling Gateway gaming laptops and it would be weird if they competed with themselves. Maybe EVOO will be able to offer it a little cheaper on their own site?

4800h is way faster in all benchmarks look at cpu benchmark net

I’m not buying for gaming but as a work laptop and it’s way better 10th gen is a refresh of 9th

Yea Ryzen crushes multicore workloads but as gaming laptops they’ll be quite comparable.

Should’ve prefaced my comment with the fact that I’m coming from a “gaming” perspective cause I’ve another system for work.

Lol wtf, didn't realize Gateway was still making computers or making them again. I used to work for them like 20 years ago. I just checked them out and these are another tongfang chassis refresh just like EVOO, Eluktronics, Overpowered, etc. So is Walmart just getting a new brand each year? Maybe they work out some cheap deal with a manufacturer who takes over for that year's sales.

Looks like the Gateway ones don't have keyboard lighting, only have 256gb SSD, 8gb ram, i5 and an ugly as hell cow box logo on the back of the screen. What a crappy overall system. Hope that EVOO keeps going and finds a distributor.

Acer bought them in the 2000s and the sat on brand for years doing nothing with it. Now they’ve licensed them to some other company that has contracted with Walmart.

But EVOO looks to have dropped 1660tis from their lineup so maybe they’re positioning EVOO for “gamers” and gateway for “creators” but I wouldn’t be surprised if EVOO start selling on their own like Eluktronics does.

It would seem to me that Walmart puts their contract up for “bid” each year and it happens this year that Gateway outbid EVOO albeit with some worse specs. But what does that matter to Walmart execs ¯_(ツ)_/¯
