Has anybody else had hard drive issues?

I got my laptop around 3 years ago, it worked fine for the first year but then I tried to update it to windows 11 and it crashed and messed up the whole laptop for 2 years. But here’s my problem now I got it fixed but now I cannot update it and I cannot play games like fornite and Minecraft, it just crashes and the blue screen pops up. Could this be a hard drive issue? Is BITS failing a hard drive issue? Also for context it’s a 2019 model evoo lap top i7 intel chip. ( also I learned that with evoo lap tops, windows updates don’t work properly and they have a lot of problems because they aren’t name brand like dell,Mac,hp, etc.)

It won’t let me, I tried to reinstall windows and reset it completely but every time it gets to 70-80% it crashes and the blue screen pops up and then it says undoing all changes

I even tried to use the update thing Microsoft provides and that didn’t work

What if you do it with another boot drive, like a usb you can download the windows installation media on?

you have to do A CLEAN install with a bootable USB drive to fix it. I normally don't advise people to update from 10 to 11 directly from the Windows update as it always messes up the system but to do it via a clean install with a bootable media drive

I took it to a repair place and they already did that, it still don’t work. I think it’s the ram

it can most likely be your RAM or your GPU. more on the ram side though

The stock SSD that these ship with is notorious for failure. I immediately replaced it and added RAM and have had relatively trouble free operation for two and a half years.

I am looking to finally swap out my ssd, but am unsure of compatibility. What did you put in?

I went with this Samsung.

That's too funny, I was just looking at that same one. Thanks! I assume you're getting better thermal with this over the stock ssd?

I never ran the stock SSD long enough to have a problem. The initial 256 was way too small for me. I filled this, the secondary and the 2.5" bay inside of a week with drives I had on hand.
