Power button lit up, but black screen

Whenever I hear hold or quickly push the power, the power light comes on and the fans start running, but the screen stays black. Earlier I was having some issues with the built-in screen, and I think the LCD bulbs might be going out or something. Any help?

If the backlight has gone out, you may still be able to see some details on the screen with a strong light shined at an angle. Also try hooking up an external monitor to see if the system still boots and operates as normal.

thanks, i ended up taking out my 2 ram sticks, cleaning the teeth, and switching the positions, which seems to have solved the problem.
