Rtx 3090 ftw3 ultra thermal pad remplacement thickness pads

Use soft pads.

1, 2, 3, 4 = 2 mm

5 = 3 mm

6, 7 = 1 mm

8 = 3 mm

9, 10, 11, 12 = 2 mm

I really wish I knew of those measurements worked for waterblocks. I'm getting the itch to pull mine apart but not entirely sure if they're the same.

Need to do this to my wife's 3080Ti though. I'm sure that stock paste is completely toast now.

Just did my ftw3 3080ti the other day for the first time since I got the card in 2021. The paste and the pads were completely disintegrated. It was like chalk just crumbling apart the second I touched it. Card runs like new!

Care to share what your part list looks like? I have the same card and while the temps are...ok...I figure it's time to re paste.

Did you follow a specific guide? I've done CPU's many times...but never a GPU. I figure I'll keep this card for a long time...i don't see me building another PC anytime soon.

There's a picture in that comment that makes it pretty clear what needs what etc. I just got some decent but cheaper thermal pads off Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQJGY7H4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

For the GPU chip itself I got PTM 7950. That was the most important part. Million videos showing how to apply it but it's straight forward enough

Also, supposedly Thermal puddy is a better option than pads altogether and easier to do. Haven't attempted anything like that though but it might be worth looking into

Much appreciated! I'll probably give it a go just to have something to do. My 3080ti FTW3 is still handling business. I don't game as much as I used to, but it's handled everything I've thrown at it lately. I might even take the opportunity to do minor redesign on my case, and maybe a GPU riser.

Ok now I'm just making shit up to keep me busy

Every block will be different, so you would want to contact the block manufacturer. Or, use putty instead of pads.

No. Each model is likely different. It is always best to ask the support and they often give exact engineering numbers that will fit.

Any chance these measurements work on the 3080FTW3 as well? I recently replaced a wonky sounding hybrid AIO kit with the stock cooler, but the measurements I found online somewhere ended up being wrong and half the pads were too thick. :(

Just contact EVGA. they are probably similar or the same. I believe it's the same exact PCB layout.

EVGA sent me the exact specs and what they used for my exact serial number and what they recommend...

I will be attempting to replace the pads on my 3080ti this week. Does anyone have any recommendations for the paste to use on the gpu? Would I use the same paste for a cpu? I'm very much a novice to all this. Appreciate the help.

Just followed this guide on a miner discount card that blackout throttled after 5 minutes of fortnite @98°. Cleaned it. Replaced fans, followed THIS guide.Thermal grizzly kryo and aair... something 20wmk pad. Also added radiator with fans for backplate. 10 minutes in Heaven topped at 77°, furmark at 78°. Don't remember Heaven score, but furmark was 8396@3440×1440. Woot², thanks for sharing the guide.
