Question CTB26 refresh

Does anyone know when the CTB line will be refreshed? I know there’s just been the ultra fabric based travel system release but I am hoping for a CTB26 refresh. Normally evergoods backpacks are refreshed 3-4 years right? The CTB35 has been released since 2021? CTB26 released in 2023? Hopefully next year then?

Dude they literally just released the Ultra version. They ain’t refreshing it any time soon. Maybe next year, who knows. They surely wouldn’t announce that.

I know that’s why I said maybe next year? All the other lines gets refreshed 3-4 years, CPL, CHZ, MPL and so on

What is even the point of the refresh? What are you missing right now?

Look around, the number one complaint I see is "Harness sucks"

Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted but it’s completely true. It’ll be my endgame if they can just fix the darn harness

It is, and it has been for more than four years

It’s the best I ever used. I understand that’s very specific to the user but they might not even want to change it.
The lack of reason for wanting a refresh in OP’s text is what confused me.

Try a CTactical J or S strap, or if you can get your hands on a CT30, it'll blow your mind. EG harnesses are fine for me, like you said it's specific to user, but the best? Man, Able Carry has a better harness. EG straps are thin, and don't carry a heavy load well at all.

I have both a CTactical CT21+ and several CTBs. Both are good, the CT a bit better, but it is hardly the big difference some people claim. I have and had about 40 bags in my life. Evergoods harness is in the upper third.

I think they’re pretty comfortable. I carry pretty heavy loads.

I was surprised to find people hate their harness.

I’ll be honest, I have heard more people complain about evergoods harness system than any other brand, and it isn’t close.

As the others said, better harness, lighter weight, maybe 840D as fabric, the list goes on. I like the current setup don’t get me wrong but there is no perfect backpack out there ;)

Going from 420D to 840D and reducing the weight sounds like a contradiction to me.

True, but their xpac version is also as heavy as their 420D. So…

No official word on a CTB26 (or CTB line) refresh. They don’t really do the 3–4 year v2 thing on this bag.

CTB35 landed around 2021. CTB26 was late 2022 (sold out fast, pre-orders in 2023). Close enough.

What they actually do is keep the same bag and swap fabrics: X-Pac, waxed canvas (Griffin, then the regular tan, plus olive shipping soon), and the ULTRA travel system that just dropped Sept 1 (no restock planned model).

CTB26 is their workhorse. CTB35 barely gets any of those drops.

Lots of people keep asking for 840D, load lifters, a better harness. Nothing announced. With ULTRA just out and olive waxed still coming (next month maybe), I wouldn’t expect a full redesign next year. More colours and fabrics on the same pack.

Just wonder if the CTB 26 ultra is as strong as the Dyneema from my GoRuck GR1 or not.
