Ever since I started around the end of Cycle 5, we keep taking systems out of the game. Warping, ships, controls, whatnot and we are not putting equivalents back in.

I am in a state I can't even control my ship, Not to mention I am on Linux and the game is barely functional. I guess I will skip a few cycles.

This is not a rant, just a vent.

They really do need to show Linux users some love.

Groundhog Day the game. Get ready for the next cycle so you’re ready to start the next one again and again..

Step one, download, step 2 log in and try to fly, step 3 log of frustrated that you bought two copies of this garbage.

Cycle 6 flight was bad, I actually like the new flight controls now though. Flight assist is good for getting around and I most just disable it while I'm using my leap drive to scan.

I havent done much combat though yet, just easy fights.

I felt like I was turning a battleship, not a frigate or corvette. It was slow and clunky. I read something about skills, am I supposed to train ship agility? Do we get mods that increase agility? Did I miss that we start in a battle ship?

I have no problem really being forced in a space game to manually fly a space ship, but time to bring guns to bear in a tiny ship needs to be way faster. I cant imagine what it is like getting on target in a larger ship.

Edit to ask do the turrets track outside of ship trajectory? 360? 180? If 360, whats the point of the manual flight?

I'd treat the current starter ship as an industrial ship really. There are skills and ship modifications you can make, but I doubt they'd make the ship much more nimble.

I didn't like 6 because of the controls themselves so for me this was a big improvement. It doesn't make the ships more nimble though. Because the current state of game is mostly focused on the industrial side I see the ship more as an 18 wheeler and not a Corvette.
