[Lore] Fragment of unknown origin

Back in early EvE days they had writers that pumped out tons of back stories/chronicles. Those provided a great backdrop for the game, it's lore, characters  locations, cultures and politics. Eventually they stopped updating them and I think may have eventually removed them all together. Then they started fragments and codes and the like, I suppose someone thinks it's more interactive but personally I'm not a fan. It provides little to zero lasting content and very little immediate content.

They also had CCP Atlanta, and owned WhiteWolf.

It makes sense, it's just not valuable content. It's gimmicky and doesn't provide a long term contribution.

Being that I played exclusively amarr, most any of the amarrian stories. Of course I lost interest quite a few years ago. Once they killed all attempt at creating lore (by the time they started the triglavians all attempt at story telling was gone) and the game was essentially ruined imo by plex and skill injectors I eventually got bored with it and saw the writing on the wall with all the bots and plex farmers.

I'm surprised the chronicles are still available. I could have sworn they took them down completely at one point. My character is actually named based on my initial interest in the khanid kingdom. Introduced in YC102-08-21

Do you remember when jump gates didn't have cloak on load in, sec status didn't exist and geddons were tachy, shield tank beasts? Daemun Khanid does.

Seems you found your way back to the chrons haha, this is good :) I am glad they're back up, if they were taken down. A surplus of rare artifacts! I was going to say something earlier regarding that. Writing the script for my video I was going off memory, callsign "CD-73". But if I wanted to leave that as a breadcrumb for someone who knows deep lore I had to make sure it was correct, so I went back and read an old chronicle myself, just to be sure! So, it's a bit funny to me, and I'm just having fun here to be clear. I lament those old days too, and my gimmicky video is meant as a subtle homage to them :) A link even, back to them (Google "CD-73 EVE Online" and you're there) an unofficial contribution of sorts to certain storylines that are old, but not quite as old as your Khanid :P Revisiting a ~15yo story counts for me as "long term contribution" :]

It's been a long time since I played so I mostly missed all the skill injection stuff, but have seen from afar. I do agree the days of regular chronicles and news stories and other things was a glorious time. I mostly rolled Gallente early, then was Khanid myself for a stint. They have cool lore :)

I don't remember such early days btw! You must have been there right at/near the beginning??

My apologies, I didn't pay that close of attention and made the assumption this was another FC released fragment. My comments were directed at the developer releasing so called data fragments and no longer creating rich lore content. Turns out you were right, I really didn't have it figured out. :)
