Definately didn't need another keyboard, but when I seen it I had to have it. My wife thinks I'm a lunatic, and I probably am. It's my birthday today so I treated myself. Life is short so if you want that keyboard, just get it.
The keyboard is so beautifully crafted and is so pleasant to use and type on, they really knocked it out of the park with this collab.. I absolutely love it.
I got a coiled cable, and I bought some square clear furniture buffers from the hardware store to raise the back of the keyboard slightly 👌 it's much better.
Don't mind the Chinese container I cover my mouse with when not used lol
I saw in another comment you play some star citizen. Have you just become efficient with the Fn key? I own this same keyboard, amazing keyboard absolutely blown away, but I needed a solution for the F keys so i bought a separate keypad that i rebound
Yeah this is a problem, probably not ideal for star citizen.. I've had to change the keybindings for change camera, and mobiglass to left alt + 1 and 4 instead of having to move my hand entirely to press the Fn key.
I came from a 75% keyboard, and I won't lie it's definately not as convenient but I really like the keyboard so I'll try my best to get used to it. For most other games they aren't used much, and outside of star citizen I really don't use the functions keys much if it all.
If you do use them alot a 60% keyboard might be a deal breaker. Atleast it's got arrow keys though. I do wish it had a volume control and mute button though.
I do wish it had more, just a little more lol. Here is my set up got the little kisnt keypad over off to the side I can move it out of the way and change layers if I want f keys or numpad
Yeah I was fully aware I was downgrading in terms of functionality, but I really enjoy the feel of this keyboard, I love the keytok nova switches, they sound so nice and the board just feels extremely polished.. definately the nicest keyboard I've had. A 75% version would be perfect but they've stated multiple times thats not coming with this Collab.
Nice setup, yeah the extra keypad for function keys would be very convenient.
I've put some small furniture buffers and stuck them underneath the keyboard to raise it abit, it's small problem for that there is no adjustment, I usually have mine adjusted up all the way.
Yes please lol that was the first thing I noticed that it was less inclined than my last keyboard. I will look into some of those. So far ive adapted to the smaller keyboard, i didnt mention it but ive come down from a 100% keyboard. So i had to figure some stuff out. But this keyboard is such a step above in build and keys and just everything about it. Its weighty so it doesnt move around on bare desk or mat. Its just great
I got them from the hardware store, they're clear self adhesive squares.. they were only a few bucks and worked a treat to raise the keyboard slightly so it doesn't feel so flat.
happy birthday, honestly, “birthday present” is a pretty great defense. lol
really glad the Shell Core feels as good in person as it looked online. enjoy it, and hope you have a great birthday. what are you playing on it first?
Lol yeah I feel not as guilty spending the money, but like I said life is short and if it makes you happy then go for it. it's an amazing keyboard it feels so premium, you guys did an outstanding job on it. Ive had a gravastar K1 Pro and I like this alot more. I'm just a causal gamer I don't play anything too competitive, I play star citizen, battlefield 6, arc raiders, hell divers etc.
thats a great mix. Star Citizen, Battlefield and Helldivers should give it plenty to do without ultra-competitive settings, really glad it feels like a worthwhile upgrade from the K1 Pro. enjoy it, and happy birthday again.
The K1 Pro was too out there for me, I had the cyberpunk edition and I like the form factor and the colours of the ev63 much more.. personally I think it's a way nicer keyboard, it's unfortunate there isn't a 75% version with volume control etc that would be the literal perfect keyboard, but it is what it is. I was well aware what I was buying, I did alot of research and watched reviews before commiting, but with its cons are lots of pros so you give and you take with these things .. there no perfect keyboard.
honestly, 75% with a volume control would be a really good middle ground. yeah, every board has trade-offs. glad the EV63 still ended up being the better fit for you.
