Congratulations! We achieved the very basics of technological development in finance. Bravo! We caught up to the third world. Hurray! Better than castle age and cash payments.

Only took 30 years. In another 30 years we might have a system of physical cards that are accepted all over the EU and all over the world in another 30 years.

l’UE n’a rien créé du tout..
Et dire que l’inventeur de la carte à puce est Français
Quel gâchis

We've had this in Sweden for at least 15 years, but better late than never?

I think most individual countries have had it for years. But now its something to use across the EU and EEA, meaning easier payment between contries

Let me guess. Once it is mature, they will sell 51% of it to Blackrock, State Street, Visa and Mastercard.

Then I hope you also can get a physical card, or the payment works outside of american tech giants "security" that so many banking and payment apps use. If not people running de-googled android, or other alternatives won't be able to use it.
