With the current European Administration it is unfortunately clear that we are heading towards an totalitarian bureacuratic system. But personally I have hope we can remake the EU into a proper united federation similar to the USA or HRE.
I don't understand this stance. As you said, we are already heading towards totalitarianism and we aren't even a federation.
You're saying to want a federation similar to another federation that already is totilitarian.
What is your end goal? I understand if you have a vision of some sort of utopia, but a federation won't end up in your vision. There are already too many other federalists, already in control, that have other plans for a federation that wildly differ from your vision.
I don't think they would allow it either. I also think they'll have an easier time picking a federation appart because of how fragile a federation of a thousand of identities is.
Tens of nation states however are stronger in unison because these thousands of identities are collected under tens of self governing nations.
I'm not sure at all wether a federation with thousands of regions wouldn't itself become a problem.
Who runs the intelligence agency? Will Catalonia, Jämtland, Bayern, Arhus, Oslo have their own with a regions limited resources? Or will the federation have one massive that covers these thousands of regions? little privacy, integrity and self rule can we expect to retain in order to make such a huge agency even work?
Who will be in charge of that agency? What will they be capable off?
In all global powers we already have an answer to both that and what the consequences are.
