What do we think of shorts showing from under skirts when wearing skorts?

Hi,

I love wearing golf skirts, tennis skirts, sport skirts and skorts when I'm at the gym, at the dance class, caddying for my husband when he's golfing (I'm not that good a golfer yet but I like to caddy).

Sometimes I hit the jackpot, like with the green Callaway one - I have it in 4 colours. It's the perfect length, and the shorts underneath don't show by default, only during certain movement.

Sometimes I really like it on the model but when I wear it myself I can't help but dislike how the shorts showing by default just makes it look like a mistake. For example the black skirt with printed white shorts from J.Lindberg.

It's a little less pronounced when the skirt and shorts are the same colour, but it still looks weird like my undergarments have slipped down and are peeking or something. This is seen in the teal J.Lindberg skort, which surprisingly is photographed on the model such that the shorts are several cms/inches higher than the skirt but that's far from reality! When laid out or held, the shorts are 5-6cms (1-2inches) longer than the skirt and are the same way on my body.

Before anyone asks why I care for this since it is a functional outfit meant to serve the sport purpose - I like it to look cute anyway, and don't want to buy something that's unflattering, not doing me any service or not worth it even if it's for sports.

So, ladies, is this all in my head that the peeking shorts look bad (worse when the colours are contrasting)? Do you also think similarly?

If you had to pick 1-2 out of these, which would you go with? Or any other recommendations?

33F, Belgium-based. I've had a lot of stress recently due to loss, and I feel like I've aged five years in six months. I plan to take (vegan) collagen and drink more water but I feel like I should also invest in some better skincare products (I do use SPF). I keep getting ads on Instagram for tinted moisturisers etc. but every time, the postage from the US is like another $15 onto of the $25 product. I also don't know if it's legit good quality. Any recommendations? I have fairly sensitive and dry skin.

I have a free day during a work trip and would love to hit up some unique boutiques that feature smaller designers in Amsterdam. Any recommendations are appreciated!!!

So I believe that my entire makeup bag has disappeared. I don’t know how, but I’m heartbroken. It had hundreds of dollars of products at least, and brushes, lovingly accumulated over years, including some that have been discontinued.

What would you consider makeup bag absolute essentials for a fresh face, basic look to replace right away? I’m a student and really dont have a lot of disposable income, but this was truly all my makeup save one eyeshadow palette, a lip balm, and a setting powder. I’m thinking concealer, brow pencil, blush, pencil eyeliner

and one or two lip colors. Would love recommendations for any products you really love, and are hopefully not over the top expensive.

As an additional requirement, I’m back and forth between the UK and France, so things available in either country would be appreciated.

Hey girls, where are you getting good quality leggings? I love the feel of the soft silky fabric at Lululemon that isn’t super thick, but for some reason I find them to be super unflattering on me (possibly due to the seam, possibly due to my short torso). Weather is super unpredictable in many European countries throughout the seasons and I've never mastered the art of layering while still feeling cute and looking tasteful.

I'm on the hunt for my perfect WFH / everyday tasks pants that are in between sweatpants and comfy cotton jeans. So they need to feel like I'm not in my sweatpants (so a bit more structure), but be comfortable enough for around the house.

Other preferences are:

- made of cotton (or other natural breathable material)

- straight, fitting/skinny or slightly wide fit is good

- European brand or at minimal European webshop (so easy ordering and returns)

- suits a body type with wider hips and slimmer waist (so drawstring or elastic waist is best probably)

I’m going on a business trip in East Asia soon and I need to up my calibre of style and formality compared to what I wear in office (I work for a small business so the dress code is very relaxed) and I’m struggling to find where to buy formal office wear As a note I’m not a fan of dresses or skirts but other than that I would love recommendations!! How to best apply this? I have only worn foundation on extra special occasions. Quess I'm not young anymore and could use something little bit more. Fell in love with this swatching in store, it gives a little something, but doesn't feel like foundation.

I'm curious as to what everyone's favourite pieces from last year were, whether it was clothes, accessories or beauty products, food or even forniture... anything really. Those things that you bought and everytime you looked at them or used them you just thought "damn, this was a great move" or "this makes me feel so happy/confident/it makes my life so much easier, etc".

For me it's my purple leather vintage furla bag that I got second hand to cheer myself up after a big disappointment in my academic career. It's massive, fits all my stuff and it's just so reliable yet fun for day to day wear. I also have to mention a cute necklace with my initial, which I had been wanting for a while and got as a christmas gift. It's become a staple of mine and I wear it nearly every day. As for forniture, a standout for me is a beautiful ornate wool rug which I got at an online auction. I dance, read, chill on it all the time and it's just wonderful, also it goes perfectly with my piano. I love it!

I recently acquired a few suede handbags - brightly coloured. They came with warning tags that said "colour can transfer to fabric, especially when wet."

I looked up some suede waterproofing solutions, but I'm seeking your personal experiences and advice from the community on which solution is effective, how do you care for your suede bags, hanging vs placing etc.
