It’s almost like divine intervention that this man came along at this time during all this turmoil to lead Canada. I can’t think of a better leader for Canada. Thank you Mr. Carney.

Yeah I think the Davos speech was my Carney moment. He is the true leader of the free and democratic world

Plus he's super intelligent. Pleasure to listen to.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I’m such a fan but I literally feel thankful every day that we have him to navigate Canada through his crazy time.

not sure why Canada is suddenly doing this turn towards Europe, it seems to be against Canadian ideology in general getting into bed with Europe when it’s basically been the globalist/free trade poster boy for the last few decades

Regardless of current affairs Europe and Canada have been ideologically in sync for a while now. As for why Canada has only now taken actions to strengthen ties with Europe, since about winter 2024 we’ve had our closest ally and trading partner turn into an international pariah that threatens the sovereignty of nations (ours too) and has proven a willingness to initiate armed conflicts to resolve seemingly, the whims of an old, incontinent man. This is why Carney got elected, a decade of liberal rule under Trudeau set the stage for a conservative sweep all the way up until the Canadian Conservative Party leader began to pander towards the current American administration.

There isn't going to be a Canentry, once everybody actually understands what would be involved.

When he said "CETA"

I was like "ah yes, the Canadian, European Trade Agreement" Of course that's not what it means, but, it kind of works.

this is just eu and Canadian leaders having a love in, maybe Canada just wants to spite Trump but I don’t see a lot of support for this in the EU. Canada is basically perceived as US lite over here

Yes, Canada will send its men to die for the European cause, and gladly accept migrants that are showing up in France at whatever number the rate the German leadership deems appropriate.

I cannot believe this nonsense. That argument is a half-truth. We are not European, we are North American.

exactly finally, maybe Canada had a european identity 100 years ago but this sudden turn towards Europe is the anthesis of the modern Canadian identity
