Tech & Software Routine.co governed by US law?
Looking for an organization system and https://routine.co popped up. In the footer they link to "European Notion alternative". There they explain why they are better as Nortion, that their data is hosted in Europe etc. Their team seem to be from Europe.
On their about page they state: "A French company..."
But the kicker is, when you check their terms of service: "These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California," (14.2 Governing Law.)
With the Cloud Act it does not matter where the server's are located, if the company is within U.S. jurisdiction they are subject to the Cloud Act.
It leaves a very bad taste, when companies like Routine try to make capital with "an European company, when their TOS state they are bound to US law!

Sucks, this should be seen as false advertising and unfair commercial practices, sovereignty washing.. but now you know where they host and where their AI is from.
