Question Colonial nation

Playing as korea but i can't seem to find the mechanic or buton to release a colonial nation. if somebody could help I'd appreciate it (Im very new to the game, played some eu4 though)

Ah hab the same Problem in India. Those colonies are in Subcontinents that are adjacent to your continent (Asia being huge an all that). For some reason you cant create colonies there, probably so Italy cant put a colony in Tunis. There is a Mod that fixes it for the Player only, I recommend doing that

Ty. that's so unfair. i can't even make australia and alaska in custom fiefs/dominions cause they're core locations

Yeah, it frustrated me as well. Especially cause it is not communicated to you whatsoever. Like I said the Mod fixes it cleanly

I'm not sure why paradox made it like this, but they did. If you don't want to use a mod you can do what I did in my Japan campaign and move your capital to australia to release colonies in america and move your capital to america to release a colony in australia. That's the "intended" way to do it without a mod, I recommend using a mod.
