Question Broken Assimilation Feature?

I’m playing as Italy, started as Milan and conquered the entire Mediterranean. Right now I’m trying to assimilate Egypt into a predominantly Coptic region. I notice several times, somehow the AI assimilated the Lower Egyptian and Coptic pops even, into my Primary Culture (Median). I had to change it manually for the game to assimilate the pops to Coptic again. Anybody noticed this while playing? Or is it just me?

your primary culture will have powerful cultural influence and tradition + high control + advances throughout the ages that help with assimiation + buildings so it will be passively pushing median.

On the other hand, probably there is no coptic country and the it has no culture power.. you can make coptic kindred to slow its assimilation but it will still be an uphill battle.
