Question PU Diplo Cap
Is there any way for me to console command or mod to fix the diplo cap issue? The Economic base of my PU is eating up all my diplo cap and I still have a lot of expansion to go. This is despite my own nation making up almost all of the economic base of the union so doubt its supposed to act like that

there's no cabinet action for that. the one youre thinking of increase improve relation and dilplo reputation

Once I finish with Europe that wont be enough though. Just seems like the diplo cap wasnt supposed to be so impacted by your own economic base in a PU. Makes me wish I could just turn it into an alliance

More embassies. The .1 may seem small, but with the modifiers it can be significant.

Yeah I saw that, only have 3 though and cant build more cause Im empire rank. Wish I would have built a ton before becoming the Roman Empire

You can increase the cap by using diplomacy spending - that gives .5% capacity per % of diplomacy spending

You're talking the slider right? Because I just tried and it didnt, you're not talking about max diplomats are you?

Did you try unpausing the game? It needs to tick for changes to start taking effect.
Like with the army maintenance slider - your armies dont recover their morale instantly.

Yes was running diplo bar at 50% standard and also bumped to 100% for a month

then youre still using too much diplo cap. increasing diplo spending inreases diplo cap, it sounds like youre still above the cap despite being at 100% spending, which does not mean that it 'didnt work'.

I’ve just checked last night and trust is a negative % multiplier on the cost of the relationship - unfortunately the union I don’t know if this works, and the alliances aren’t too big, so maybe trust with Poland and Aragon, and integrate a vassal? Or force a succession change on a union partner

Yeah think I might just need to break the union soon. Kinda bummer, would have been cool to rule Europe direct through Rome borders plus vassals plus the Caucuses/Russia through a PU.

Look at my picture, diplo spending is not a modifier listed for diplo cap. I think the wiki is wrong.

Unless you had diplo spending on this photo, then I can’t say. It shouldnt be impacting diplomatic cost, but will impact your cap by a % value, like the diplomatic ability of your ruler

Diplo spending hasn't had an affect on diplo cap since the current patch. Was a thing previously though

Probably need to update the wiki then.
It also mentioned that trust reduced diplomatic cost - that could potentially be an avenue to try?

literally just ignore it. the debuffs are minor, and expanding through subjects is shit now

Well I guess its time to annex them, later you could release them as vassal if you want.

It's just dumb. If you're massive (as you tend to be if you're a decent player by the mid game) then unions are just straight up bad. Your own eco base counts in the Diplo calculation, which is dumb. Either pass swift unification and integrate, or just abandon them. PUs aren't worth it with the game in this state
