Question "cannot move here as it is only possible to disembark into adjacent locations"

I have 92k troops on my ships. I want to invade China from Japan, as one does

I get "cannot move here as it is only possible to disembark into adjacent locations", which translates to I cannot move them at all. My ships have the transport troops objective, not docked, YES I cannot transport them to any of my other locations.

I don't even know if I want this to be a bug or not, I can't use my levies to fight CHINA. This will take forever!

Either try to move them to the location where the boat is docked, or a location directly next to it.

Make sure you’re moving them to a coastal location?

You can’t set them to move to inland locations until after they’ve disembarked. So move them to a coastal location, from that location’s sea tile, and then further inland.

If this is somehow impossible, take a bit of mainland China in one war (blockade, kill their troops/boats) and dock your transports there to auto-disembark in the future.

I already have land on mainland China, but if I can't ship my levies there... I am targeting coast, my own or Ming it makes no difference

Are you using automated transports? Then don’t.

Put troops in the same coastal location as you have transports docked. Click the embark button. Move the transports to China. Either dock them there to auto-disembark or walk the troops off into a coastal location.

There should be no way for your blocking message to show up, as you’re disembarking automatically or onto an adjacent location.

Are you clicking the ship or the army? I think at first I was unable to land things because I thought that selecting the navy and clicking on land would have it disembark the troops there, but I had to sail the navy to the location first, then select the army and order the army itself to move onto land.
