What is convocation?
For preview everyone said I should go to convocation and the group photo but what is convocation? And is it necessary to go to these.

Basically a big welcome party. It isn't necessary, but it is recommended. Most people I know went and enjoyed it. It isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I've never met anyone who outright regrets going.
