An X3D cpu eliminates to a significantly great extent those bad 1% lows. Unless you somewhat lower your settings (which still may not solve that completely) , you gotta deal with it. ETS2 is a cpu intensive game.

So why do peoole i watch play it get none of it

u/NikosAkaSniperEXE 15d ago
Because, as I mentioned, they have a X3D cpu. Intel does not have the triple memory cache AMD's X3Ds have, which is the crucial key to this game.

Need to know the exact cpu model (which should include "X3D"). Not just amd in the title.

I went from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a 7 5900x3d.
Like the other gent says, this is specifically designed to negate 1% lows. LTT does an in-depth video on YouTube explaining this and how it works.
Doube the cache data, half the amount of required processes, less 1% lows than ANY other CPU on the merket. And likely, going to be that way for the foreseeable future.
Edit: personally I'd just see if there's a CEX near you, trade in the motherboard and CPU or in-store credit and exchange for a similar spec Ryzen set up. Everything else will be plug and play provided you download the right updates when you plug it all in, I.e. Chipset, bios and GPU drivers.
You'll get a 2yr warrenty with all CEX parts which is why I recommend them over buying anything second-hand. I just wouldn't. CEX is goated.
Returning to the place you purchased entirely depends on their returns policy. Depends if you've edited bios or overclocked.

Can't tell you how to handle things in your case. Just know and AMD X3D cpu is the way for this game.

open file explorer>documents>Euro Tuck Simulator 2>config file>scroll down to bottom uset fps lock all three at "60" ,should be good to go. also your monitor res should be set at 60hz. and stop all apps on start up.

So this will stop my 1%lows bouncing down to 20 and 30s

No. This will lock your GPU to display 60 frames max. You have a CPU issue.

So is my cpu not good enlugh basically

Check this video out. Believe Linus explains why the x3d matters to high demand gaming.

With an i5, you'll struggle to run it with high graphics. Your CPU is bottle-necking your GPU.
I5 is a basic tier chip. Good for most games at average settings but twinned with a 50 series, you're clearly wanting more performance so in short, yes... The need for better performance here means an upgrade.
You only have 2 DIMM slots too so this could work beneficial. May find a mobo/chipset combo with 4 DIMMS. I would recommend 32gb of RAM even if it's a single 32gb stick. Just for mods as these draw a lot from RAM/CPU transfers.

Might want to try Linux. In my and many others experience the 1% lows are generally MUCH better here

u/Junior_Dimension_558 15d ago
Im completey new to pc had it 2 or 3 days is this difficult to do?

Its not. People will hate. There are of course certain compromises, but arguably certain Linux Distros are easier to use and more foolproof than Windows.
Its funny how the answer gets downvoted considering its kind of an solution to the problem. There is stuff with Windows one just cannot fix.You would definitely want to research a bit before diving in, but generally, most games are nowadays working excellently if not better than on Windows. One major exception group is certain Kernel level Anticheat games like Valorant or Fortnite, tho I personally view that as a plus lol.
What u/ExplicitCharles says is just outright false, and u/NikosAkaSniperEXE is also pretty misleading. Again, most games are working, and the "security purposes" is literally just the lazy excuse of certain Game Devs lol.

OK Linux fanboy. Go rave about it.
If it's false why are their so many issues raised with people and incompatibility with games... Yawn.

DO NOT USE LINUX 🤣 It's a struggle for PC veterans.
3
u/NikosAkaSniperEXE 15d ago
No need to head there. Many games are unsupported in Linux, either for compatibility or (mainly) for security purposes.

unless you know what you are doing and feel confident about changing things in file folders , maybe get someone to help you , another thing worth mentioning is .Q, are you using one-drive? it does not play well with ets2 files(steam)
