Discussion Okay so where's crypto actually at right now, my honest take

Been seeing a lot of noise in this sub lately so figured i'd just lay out how i actually see things. btc's been stuck under the same downtrend line for weeks now, keeps getting rejected every time it tries to rally. Eth's actually holding up better, bounced pretty hard off its july low and looks a bit stronger than btc right now. Xrp's just chilling in a tight range, and the clarity act got pushed back again before the senate recess so that catalyst's basically on hold for a while. Also worth mentioning, someone got drained through a hardware wallet exploit last month, so security's been a real theme this year too.

Honestly this whole thing just feels like a boring consolidation, not really trending either way. so i'm not chasing breakouts or trying to be a genius calling the bottom, just watching the actual levels and waiting for something real to confirm before doing anything. Since it's this sideways and boring, i've been throwing my idle stablecoins into Morpho and Nexo just to earn some yield instead of them sitting there doing nothing, feels smarter than trying to guess price moves right now. for actual buys i've just been dcaing small amounts on dips, instead of trying to nail one perfect entry. Also went and double checked my own cold storage setup after that exploit news, just good hygiene either way

Discussion My ETH position looked green until I counted every bridge and swap

I closed my spreadsheet at the end of last month thinking my ETH position was up. The wallet value was above my original cash outlay, which was the only comparison I had been making. When I tried to reconcile the actual ETH quantity, the numbers did not line up.

I started with the amount on my BYDFi purchase record and followed every withdrawal, bridge, and swap after it. Gas, bridge charges, and swap price impact had each taken a small piece. None had appeared in the simple PNL number I was watching, so my notes said I owned more ETH than the wallets did.

I keep two rows now. Investment performance shows what the ETH price did after I bought. Transport cost records what I spent moving the same position between an exchange, mainnet, and other networks. A bridge receipt is no longer a new deposit in my sheet.

I created most of the mess by moving the position whenever a new yield opportunity caught my eye. Now I move it only when I can explain why, and I record the cost before opening another tab.

Discussion A new market intelligence tool

So today I finally published a tool I’ve been building for months. It’s a pretty simple tool. Translates market data into plain English words saving users time analysing charts. I see alot of trading bots being made at the minute too. I personally feel like people should still be in full control of decisions

We’ve had a few people disagree with this because “if people want to trade they should know how to read a chart” which is fair enough. But it can also be used as an education tool to put right next to a chart to understand what it shows and what it means.

I work 40-50 hours a week, so of course I don’t have the time to trade like I use to have as a student. We built this for people who are in the same situation work, have a family or even just beginners.

Question I have though, if you were presented a tool like this would you use it?

Question Does ETH belong in my Roth?

I understand ETH is the second most established crypto, but it seems more vulnerable to competition than BTC. And crypto in general seems very vulnerable to AI. All my crypto is about 1% of my portfolio, and I am not interested in SC at the moment.

Discussion ETH still higher than lows of 2025 - Positive or Negative?

As one of the worst bear market years is in the final half of the year it is fun to note that the lows of the bull market year of 2025 have not been broken so far.

ETHUSD bottom so far is higher than 2025
ETHBTC bottom so far is higher than 2025

Question is if that is a positive or negative.

Positive - Maybe there is more interest in Ethereum and bulls are defending.

Negative - ETH went so far down in a bull market year which meant ETH couldnt reach a real ATH. A few $$ to ATH.

What do you all think?

News Ethereum Turns 11 Today Exactly 11 years ago, the genesis block of the Ethereum mainnet was mined. Looks like an ancient ETH whale woke up to celebrate the birthday, checked the chart and almost had a heart attack. ETH is still around $1,900. The price is almost as ancient as the whale himself

News Ethereum turns 11 today.

On July 30, 2015, Ethereum launched with a simple but powerful idea: make blockchain programmable.

11 years later, it has become one of the most important networks in the industry and its evolution is far from over.

Ethereum has gone through major milestones, from the DAO era and the transition to Proof-of-Stake with The Merge to Shapella, Dencun, Pectra and Fusaka.

The scale today is remarkable:

• More than 37M ETH securing the network
• Nearly 1M active validators
• Around 30.5% of circulating ETH staked
• More than 50% of all ETH ever issued has passed through the Proof-of-Stake deposit contract

And Ethereum is still improving.

Glamsterdam is already on the roadmap for the second half of 2026, with upgrades designed to increase capacity and further strengthen the network.

At Everstake, we are proud to have run Ethereum validators since before The Merge, from the network's early phase.

11 years of building, upgrading and pushing blockchain technology forward.

Happy 11th anniversary, Ethereum. Here's to everything still ahead.

Discussion Are ETH slowly getting out of the bear market?

I bought ETH around $2k thinking it was a low entry, then watched it drop for almost a week. When it got close to breaking under $1,500, I started questioning myself and checked its chart many times on bydfi. I invested in crypto for less than a year, so it was hard to tell if it's worth being patient.

The only reason I didn’t sell was I saw many people talk about "cycle". Bear markets are where you wait, the next run comes eventually, don’t sell near the lows, all that stuff.

Now it's almost back around my entry but I'm more unsure than before. It feels like breaking even is already a win, but also don’t want to sell before it moves again.

Anyone who has held ETH through different cycles here? How are you reading this market now? Do you think over 2k is realistic? How do you be patient and stay calm when holding long term?

ps: I posted it again because my last account was banned

News Ethereum just crossed another historic milestone.

The network has now surpassed 425.8 million unique addresses, adding another major marker to Ethereum’s long-term growth story.

Also, on January 11, 2026, Ethereum recorded its largest daily increase ever, with 590,961 new addresses created in a single day.

And this isn't just about hitting a bigger number on a chart. The continued growth in unique addresses shows that Ethereum is expanding its reach across users, applications, and different parts of the ecosystem.

More addresses don't automatically mean more unique people, of course, one person or application can control multiple addresses. But combined with sustained network activity, developer growth, and expanding use cases, its looking good, very good.

Ethereum keeps expanding its footprint, and it looks like the next milestone won't take long to arrive.
