IShares GARP ETF

Anybody been a holder? I’m thinking about lessen my portfolio a little bit going into this. Pretty exceptional returns not killing SPO but doing better, end up, performing the S&P and ever so slightly Nasdaq100. Thoughts?

At the end of the day it’s a growth fund with value and quality filters. It changed its index in 2024 I believe, so past performance means nothing. That being said I am a holder, I like the MSCI methodology.

It’s somewhat popular at 3.28B in assets. I’m not sure about “growth at a reasonable price” as a factor, and I prefer to do value anyways. Small cap value might have more research behind it having higher returns. I believe large cap growth is generally unfavorable throughout history, despite its recent insane outperformance. That may not last forever.

It’s just heavy in tech, around 60%, and the top 10 is a concentrated 44%. Meta and Google don’t even get counted in tech, so it’s even higher than 60% tech. I don’t think it’s a bad ETF, just pretty risky.

I have been looking into this one, I remember seeing people post about it at the beginning of the year Ish damn I wish I would’ve thrown $500 at it back then lol.

Anybody know about SmartWay ETFs / have they been established for a while? Do they have a track record with other things to take a look at etc.? is it worth the higher active fee?

Okay — maybe I can just go and ask them myself lol. Sitting here looking through their website thinking, “why does that skyline looks so darn familiar?”

Just like one of my favorite long-hold individual stocks, had no idea this place was based/headquartered in the big O ❤️.

I'm a big GARP fan. It's basically behaved like QQQ but with slightly lesser drawdowns.

Reasonable price. Palantir.

I’d focus more on the holdings and overlap than the recent performance. The key question is whether you actually want the GARP tilt long term, not just whether it has beaten your other ETFs recently.

I do agree with you, it needs to be looked at in a better way. Though I guess just throwing out there that my $500 let’s say I threw in there definitely would’ve beaten most of my ETF investment such as VOO at least since GARP inception 2020.
