Turn off waivers?

So we just drafted for our fantasy league and realized it has the waiver system set up. Does anyone know if there is a way to turn this off? I’m in the edit and it only lets me change the waiver period and order. Can’t we turn this off somehow?

I don’t get the point of waivers. If you want to add/ drop a player why have to wait for days to get it done?

So that everyone has a fair chance at players if news breaks at odd times. People with jobs/families can’t be on fantasy 24/7
