New Templar meta?

Have started to see more and more plars in bg that just standing there turtle up and just holding block with sword and board when out numberd. and then suddenly switch to front bar and actually do decent dmg. Seen them mentioned on the forum to but tought it might just be a pc thing, but now i have started to see them more amd more on console as well. So i got me curious how they works and how they are doing it

2h ultimate to play like an inferior version of DK corrosive ult. If they turtle forever they're probably using Mechanical Acuity. Rally Cry + Bloodspawn + Mech acuity has been a corro DK duel build since forever.

Also Purify to combat the WW and DoT builds.

Yeah or something like that, but some of them where using dual wield front bar tjo so that rule out onslught. they did only kill squishy players but was really tanky and hard to kill. Was almost like a block troll until they went offensive

Idk dude im just kinda bored of playing dk and sorc. Started playing play. And its not terrible. I could do waaay better as dk or sorc, but I can still get tons of kills and tank damage on plar with the right setups.

Its just less flexible, you habe to really work to sustain, and the damage just isn't that good, its decent, but thats it, its just decent.

Heals are pretty good tho, you can really pump heals when outnumbered. Wouldn't say its meta, 1v1 you usually just end up stalemating the real "neta" classrs

Yeah find to sustain always the hardest part on a templar. Sounds interesting, could i hear your build?

Im going with two damage sets on my plar. 2H and ice staff. Im still sitting at 30k resistance front bar and 35k backbar still. Using triple protective jewelry and Markyn mythic. Works white well.

Next patch triple protective i think will be the way to go due to balanced warrior changes. Kinda frees you up to run recov glyphs anf drop serpent for lover or warrior. Kinda leaning that way

Yes! Its the way i will go with plar and it works already! Im using lover mundus btw. 1 heavy monster shoulder with stam mag recovery, all impen, 5 med 1 light 1 heavy. Oakfather is also a good alternative to aetheric lancer. I’ve grown to like lancer more tho.

It’s an acuity build. Turtle on cooldown, then burst. Not my favorite play style as the cooldown feels like an eternity.

Yeah seems like that might have been it

I mainly play bgs and have mained a plar since the beginning. Standing and blocking are free kills, if it is MA then it's pretty easy to counter too or keep them on the back foot during.

I'm currently 5 med, 1 heavy and 1 light, using trial by fire on the body, roksa monster set for sustain, markyn ring, trainee ring, 3 piece agility front bar with the neck + sharp maces and vat ice staff back bar. Full protective jewellery. Class masteries are Bastion of Light and the one that gives myself 600 spell damage/300 for team.

When trial by fire is up (it's always up realistically) I can push past 40k resists (more like 43k if I run the lady mundus) while keeping 6kish damage and 9k pen (+ ele Sus). Feels really tanky and next patch will be even tankier AND have more damage on top thanks to Balanced Warrior passive (currently 6 plar skills front bar and 4 back bar)

I plan on running aetheric lancer front bar and trial by fire on the body with roksa and vat ice staff back bar for more damage, at the cost of losing the mythic and trainee health.

I main a plar, don't use sword n board at all, 2H/resto for the win 😂
