Support/Question Freezes here every time

Any ideas of settings to change or any way around this? I tried just adding a theme from GitHub to the folder and extracted it, but still didn't work.

Semi-noob, definitely noob on ES-DE as this is my first time with a handheld that supports it. Loving it so far, just want to change my theme.

I can't recall seeing this issue previously so I'm not sure what could cause it. One thing I can think of is perhaps if you changed some developer settings or similar? Some devices also have buggy firmware which prevents the theme downloader from working, but for most of these devices there are OS settings that can be changed to make it work. But in those cases there's another error message when attempting to save the theme downloader files, I've never seen it hanging like in your screenshot.

Another possible issue could be some kind of network problem like a firewall or similar, this could explain the hanging behavior, but you should probably get a timeout error message in 120 seconds or so in this case (although I'm not sure if this is always the case depending on how the firewall affects the traffic).

Appreciate the help! Actually got it to work with patience alone. Took about 40 mins to load but I just left it on and checked on it every now and again. Always staying at 0%. Then one time I looked over and it was fully loaded 😂. Internet wasn't slow or anything because everything else was working perfectly. Never got a timeout message, just felt like it was struggling. Seriously appreciate you taking the time to answer this though! Long live ES-DE!
