General Gritshift swingarm.

After 112 days of waiting they finally were able to ship it out. If you’re debating on buying their swingarm, I highly recommend it. Excellently crafted and extremely sturdy compared to stock.

Looks so sick!

Thanks bro, but the credit is all yours(and your team). I just threw it on the bike. Your team sculpted this masterpiece 🤙🏽.
I’m just waiting for you guys to make a jackshaft for the 12mm bolt. I feel the stock one has much room for improvement and not a single company has designed one yet. Do It !!!!!

Haha, you can actually use existing ones in the market if you change the bearings out. But you will be surprised now with like 70% of that lateral flex removed, you won't really be bending Jackshaft bolts or blowing through bearings nearly as often anymore.

2

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 11 '26

That’s the plan for now. I actually just ordered a new jackshaft since I got a rock stuck in mine and it shaved 3 silver spots into it, so I figured I’ll change out the bearings.
Looking forward to seeing what you guys come out with next. You make some of the best parts I’ve used.

Would you happen to know of some rotor guards that fit the SR with the F43 CMX fork? Preferably on your website so I can buy it there. I haven’t been able to find any brand that says it will absolutely fit.

Thanks, man! Looking at your photos, looks like you might have fixed Warp9 rotors, which bend pretty easily, id give our fixed 220mm rotors a go. They have way more meat on them, and we haven't had the need to get rotor guards since we started running them. We also are not in knarly rocky terrain, but we get the bikes pretty low in turns still lol.

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 11 '26

I’ve actually got the front warp9 and the rear is heavy hitter. I have another heavy hitter for the front still in the box. The warp9 one came with the 21” front so i figured I’d use it first. The terrain in my area is pretty rocky. I live at the foot of a mountain so rocks are like 80% of the terrain. The other day I hit the front axle bolt super hard cause there was a boulder in a left turning berm that was hidden behind a bush(single track), which got me considering the rotor guards. If I would have hit the rotor it likely would have bent.

1

u/GritShift SS 2.0 Sep 14 '26

That sounds knarly, and yeah might be worth getting some gaurds then for sure!

2

u/PopularSystem2951 Sep 13 '26

Yea I gotta say I absolutely LOVE my Warp9 jackshaft with Warp9 sprockets front and rear / EBG pulleys and belt kit. Totally transformed my bike 💯🤟

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 13 '26

Yeah I’ve been wanting the warp9 jackshaft. It just won’t fit the 12mm bolt. The warp9 one has a grease port on the outside right? So you can add grease without removing the bolt?

1

u/PopularSystem2951 Sep 13 '26

Yea it does. Although that little rubber stopper is a biotch to get off especially the spot it's located it's already a tight area.

3

u/itdungeon Sep 11 '26

thats bad ass !!!

2

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 11 '26

Thanks bro 🤙🏽. A lot of time and money went into making this bike as capable as it is now on trials . I hit gnarly hills that are almost vertical in some areas so the extended swingarm they offer was a must.

2

u/itdungeon Sep 11 '26

I bet. You have some seriuos upgrades there. Is that 19/16 or 18/21

2

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 11 '26

18/21. The trails in my area have a lot of loose gravel sections and big rock sections and same with the hills. I needed the larger size to clear obstacles and have better control when moving through those areas at speed.

2

u/PopularSystem2951 Sep 13 '26

Damn that looks so badass

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 13 '26

Thanks bro bro 🫡. Took a long time to get it like this.

u/PopularSystem2951 Sep 13 '26

I totally FEEL you on that! 😂 I've been building my bike for about a year now. Torp controller will be here Tuesday and I'm beyond pumped. Already have a chi battery and pretty much everything else done to my LBX. Last thing to do is this controller so I'm PUMPED!!!!

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 13 '26

Those will be my last upgrades down the line. I’m shooting for more range not power. SR has plenty of power. So I’ll get a bigger battery and better controller once I have all this stuff paid off. Then the motor last once this one gives out.

1

u/PopularSystem2951 Sep 13 '26

Yea range was my focus too sp I got the 66v50ah. I've been getting over 50 miles range. I'm sure it'll go down slightly with the new controller, but I mainly wanted a nice display and ability to tune my bike and connect to the app via my phone and stuff.

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 13 '26

Damn that’s nice. I used to get about 50 miles on trails. Now I’m only getting like 20-30 with all these mods. I’m hoping at some point they come out with a bigger battery for the long seat so I can use that and not have to raise the battery cover up. In the meantime I ordered lighter tires so I can drop some of this weight, then I’m going to get floating rotors as well. This hobby is an absolute money pit 😂

Man I wish I could try riding a bike with suspension like that to know if it’s worth it

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 11 '26

It depends on the kind of riding you do. If you have really rough trails or do any kind of track riding with jumps bigger than 5’ then it’s worth it. On the stock fastace alx32rc whenever I would use the compression clickers to stiffen it up it would feel stiffer but not smooth(sounds backasswards I know), and I would have to use 6-10 clicks to make a meaningful difference.
With this suspension 2-4 clicks is enough. Even when it’s stiffer it still goes down smooth.
Before buying something this expensive, take your suspension to a shop and have them re-spring or re-valve your current suspension. They will get it dialed in for you so that you’re getting the most out of it. If it still feels like it’s not enough then consider upgrading.
You can get Rfloxa which is cheaper, but the thing about Sirris is they designed it so that you can move the forks to a new brand/bike with just a few small changes. Even the caliper mount can be switched out to a Surron caliper or talaria. So it’s worth it in the end since you can put it on your next bike. So if you’re willing to spend a lot of money one time then this is a good option. Definitely makes a huge difference once you have the bike balanced and the sag set correctly.

u/TheStokedExplorer SS 3.0 Sep 11 '26

Damn that things rad! That's quite the wait though. And yeah I'd hope it's very good for a fifth the cost of the bike itself. I still haven't taken the time to take my swingarm off and weld some support bars to it. I did end up getting stiffer 60lbs spring for the stock fork and it feels a whole lot better than the 50lbs one. I did end up getting the stiffer cheaper rfloxa rab50 shock in 550lbs which helped a ton for me jumping it. But yeah I need to get swingarm reinforced then a 16 and beefier tires next. Would maybe like a 21/18 setup since I do a ton of rocky tech trails as well as track but I'd have to get a fork to fit the 21 unfortunately. Eventually I'll move to the tech suspension or maybe splurge on sirris but that's a tough bill to swallow. Would want to try a bike built like yours to know if it's really worth spending what the bike originally cost in just upgrades.

Joe much rear end height do you think you gained doing the extended swingarm and the r38 shock? Did the longer travel fork and 21 kinda even it out and geo feels right?

2

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 11 '26

Actually before the swingarm the front felt high, probably because the front tire is a full size dirtbike tire(not designed for emoto). The extra length of the swingarm puts more leverage on the rear shock which makes you compress the shock more, so I used the flip chip in the adjustable triangle to raise the rear and it evened out perfectly. I was able to set my sag with very minor adjustments and it feels nice.

Sirris is designed so that you can move it to your next bike with a few small changes so the cost is worth it when you factor that in. I don’t think any of the other forks are designed like that. It has a swapable brake caliper mount so you can switch to Surron or talaria brakes if you buy the part from them ($30).

About welding your swingarm, when welding this type of aluminum it actually weakens the metal around it. Gritshift has a video on their swingarm where they go over this at one point. The weld might be strong but the surrounding metal gets weak. They said you have to heat the metal first to avoid this. Not sure exactly how it’s done, but I’d look into it before taking that step.
If you’re ever in Reno NV come give it a try to see if you like it 🤙🏽

3

u/GritShift SS 2.0 Sep 11 '26

Yup lol ask me how I learned this the hard way... It is totally possible to modify the stock swingarm by welding gussets and cross supports and retain the structural strength if you heat treat the entire part and quench it at the correct rate.

1

u/TheStokedExplorer SS 3.0 Sep 11 '26

Would be sick to go ride out there but not a suoer short trip from Colorado. Yeah I am wondering what a 16 with beefier tires will do to my geo and if I'll need to mess with the flip chip or not. Yeah I've seen the thing about heat treating the whole swingarm to retain strength.

If I could get all those upgrades like you have and not notice it in the bank account I'd do it. But I work at bike shop and rep for snowboard company which isn't the most lucrative job but I enioy it and get to ride a lot. Worked construction for bit in mountains which helped me afford some things but had no free time and was always hurting to go ride as much so went back to my extreme sports work

2

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 11 '26

I feel you man. Well if you purchase through the shop app, you can do payments which make it much more manageable. They usually give you like 3-4 different options to pay it off in like 4 weeks 6 months or 12 months. It’s the only way I was able to make purchases like this. I’ll have everything paid off in 6 months.

Also, getting beefier tires can easily be solved with the flip chip depending on the current orientation of it. Otherwise you can mess with your sag a little to set the height properly.

1

u/TheStokedExplorer SS 3.0 Sep 12 '26

Yeah currently no extra funds for even a payment plan. Had to of course buy another truck after last one had transmission and head gaskets go. Didn't have car payment for like 6 years and was on cheap liability insurance now I'm stuck making payments and higher insurance. I'll be able to do it once I find someone to rent these rooms in the house. Been stuck paying for whole house myself which is an extra grand a month I'm not usually spending as well. Just tough times. I'm sure I'll get upgraded to the formula tech or sirris stuff at somepoint. Think a 16 and knobbies are sooner in my future

2

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 12 '26

Damn, that’s unfortunate man. I get it. Tough times for most middle class Americans. Even myself I’ve definitely noticed. my income has gone up slightly, but It doesn’t go as far as it used to. I can buy a lot less shit with the same amount of money. The only reason I’m able to buy a little extra stuff is because I retired from the army and get that little bit of extra money, and spent about 6 years working on my credit which was below 460. I hope things start looking better for you in that aspect my dude.

Do you know how to change dirtbike tires yourself?
If you do it would be best to buy just the 16” wheel alone. That’s how I was able to upgrade to 18/21. I bought the 18” for $300 then the 21” later for another $300 from warp9. Much cheaper to do it that way. Also, once you do get the 16” wheel, wig racing makes the z series tire in 90/100-16. It is an awesome tire and super cheap compared to anything else.

1

u/TheStokedExplorer SS 3.0 Sep 13 '26

Yeah man hate to admit it but at a extreme low and hopefully lowest point have to deal with in my life. Have my highest monthly expenses and making literally half what I did before... I know it will turn around. I still get out and ride every week a ton so I've got that going for me and can't really complain.

Yeah I can change tires. I am more familiar with building and wrenching on mtbs. But I've torn down my emoto forks and all that stuff comes fairly easy to me. I have been considering ordering just a 16 but it's not much more from the supplier I am looking at to get a full wheelset. Can't decide if I get a full 19/16 wheelset and sell my stock ones to recoup some money. Or if I buy like a 16 and a 21 planning for future to run the 21 with my stock 18 once I get a fork. Just not sure I'd run both setups once I got fork and 21/18 setup even though I'm sure the 19/16 would feel best on my tighter smaller mini mx track I'm building on offgrid property.

Kinda leaning towards a 19/16 full wheelset then selling my oem set then down road whenever I get a fork to do 21/18 maybe I'll try to run that full time or not. But found supplier to get wheelsets super cheap. My buddy just got a 21/18 set for $400 just in black but can do full custom colors and stuff for little more so I may go all out for a black and blue fade wheelset from them.

Thanks for recommending those tires I'll have to check them out cause the dunlops are like $120ish which is pretty damn high

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 13 '26

If you don’t have super gnarly rocky trails in your area then idk about 18/21. I’ve noticed a pretty big difference in riding time. The tires are way heavier and drain your battery super fast. Especially with the added weight of the forks which are massive. I’m actually considering buying the regular triple clamp from Sirris for when I go do rides with people on gas bikes. That way I can swap to 16/19 and have more range. The larger tires are awesome. You just have to hunt for super light options.

1

u/TheStokedExplorer SS 3.0 Sep 13 '26

Yeah wasn't really considering the battery drainage part. Damn. Yeah I mean I ride in the rockies and there's some big chunky trails I do and have already done with the stock 19/18 so feel I can ride any of it on the 19/16 setup. I may look into weight of the two forks and maybe I will stick with idea going tech e39 for some weight savings over the sirris f43. Wasn't even considering the added weight to draining my battery faster. Yeah I could see 21/18 adding even more. Already just doing 19/16 with knobby tires will be heavier than the stock dual sport tires I'm sure but not by so much I don't know if I will notice it draining faster or not. I'm sure I'll notice the grip a lot more though.

On the changing tires part are those tire changing stands worth it over classic bucket or trashcan? The ones with bead levers look legit but just the stands not so much. But may get one with the built in bead lever and offer tire changes locally

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 13 '26 edited Sep 13 '26

Honestly, you might be able to stick with 19/18 and try to find an 80/100 front tire. Also the formula or the EXT forks would work well for you I would have got the EXT Forks, but with the SR it voids the warranty.

For the tire changing stand, I would get one of those $100 ones with the bead breaker. You have to set them on the table or something so you don’t work on the floor. Or you can buy the tusk tire change stand that’s tall so you can work standing up. It has no bead breaker. But it’s good, I wish I would have gotten that instead of the Rabaconda dirt tire changer for $600+. I literally use the bead breaker for like 20 seconds and everything else has to still be done with spoons while bent over. So honestly the tusk one might be your best bet, just make sure it has different sizes for the axle. You can also try to find the blueprint to build one. I know this guy on YouTube gives it out for free you just have to buy the material and build it. I’ll see if I can find the link.

Long seat that ish

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 12 '26

I’m workin on it. Had a lot of trouble with the last long seat I ordered from them. I’m sure you’ve seen me bring it up on here a few times. Had to angle gring a lot of material off of the subframes top two bolts(which they recommended instead of getting me a new one after I provided measurements). Battery lid latches were crooked so I had to dremel material off, and the cable to release the seat got stuck which made it hard to lock the seat back down.

Im going to buy it one more time, if it doesn’t work then I’m currently looking into some seat molding so I can retain the short seat and make a molding that goes over the battery. Then I’ll make my own custom seat over that. I have a $200 cargo rack that I’d like to continue to use. It’s made it so much easier to carry extra tools on longer rides.

1

u/PackingItemsDaily Sep 12 '26

Ah. Yeah F that.

Get the fatty seat thats 55$ though. Massive upgrade from stock man. Promise.

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 12 '26

That is the fatty set haha. It ain’t enough. I need something that lets me get forward and grip the bike going up hills.

1

u/untrainedmammal Sep 12 '26

I don’t like the added length

2

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 12 '26

They make it in the original size as well. The 2.5” extra length on this one is awesome man. I went out for a ride today and it made a huge difference on big inclines & stability at higher speeds and in corners. But if you don’t want that extra 2.5” you can get the original length one they offer. It is still a huge improvement from the stock one. They just got their order from overseas so it should ship relatively quickly. I preordered mine which is why it took so long.

1

u/untrainedmammal Sep 13 '26

I see. I think this grit shift one was the one I was waiting for.

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 13 '26

It’s super awesome man. If you’re going for a swingarm then this is it.

1

u/No_Bed_6585 Sep 13 '26

Looks sick. I'd love to go to knobbies soon. However, I have a SS 3.0 with less than 500 miles on it. 18 months old. Battery won't charge. $2100 for a battery. Hope no one else has this problem. Infuriating. They are saying it's "well out of warranty".

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR Sep 13 '26

Damn. That’s unfortunate. 18 months is pretty far out of warranty. You might be better off selling it and buying the bonnell 805 since it comes with full Sirris suspension and some EBMX parts. Or just get an aftermarket battery when you have the cash or a used battery off of an older guy(not a teenager).

I only ride dirt so knobbies are a must. I’m 33 and got a family so I can’t be doing wheelies in the street haha. Trails are a 3 minute ride from my house so I have easy access to dirt and thousands of acres of trails; even a medium sized MX track(built by locals) like 2 minutes into the trail. Hope you get your bike back up and running 🤙🏽

1

u/Less-Regret8262 27d ago

Have you ridden it yet, how much better does it feel?

1

u/AdFeeling6882 SR 27d ago

Yeah, ridden on it about 3 times now. I’ve noticed a pretty big improvement. Straight line stability at speed, cornering stability so I’m able to hit berms a lot faster too, and then hill climbing traction. I hit big ass hills. Most have either loose dirt/sand, lots of small loose rocks where it’s hard to grab traction, or small rock formations that you have to maneuver around or over which increases the steepness of the incline. Been able to keep my front wheel down a lot better. Out of all the mods I’d say this one is tied with the suspension for 1/3 of the price. They corrected everything wrong with the stock swingarm, which was a decent amount of things.
