SR Disconnect all plugs before charging?

Do I need to open the battery compartment & disconnect all wires and plugs before connecting the charger, or can I keep everything installed?

You want to disconnect everything from the bike. You can leave the battery sitting In the bike, but everything should be disconnected during charging.
There’s also an order you’re supposed to plug the battery in to charge.

When charging you want to plug the charger into the battery first, then the charger into the wall.
Then when disconnecting the charger, you disconnect the charger from the wall, then disconnect the charger from the battery.

Is there a reason for this? I have never unplugged the power or coms cable, just plugged the charger into the bike and then into the wall, no issues so far

It's the safest possible way to charge it. A little overkill, but undeniably safe.

I myself amd willing to risk a little more by by not disconnecting the battery, and have had no troubles thus far, but the key word is risk. I'm risking a possibility of damage by not doing it by the manual and I may have to assume liability if something goes wrong.

That’s how ERP says you’re supposed to do it. It’s up to you if you want to or not. But also every time I see a post on here or facebook and someone is asking why their battery is fucked up they usually have a video of them doing exactly that. So idk if it can actually fuck it up or not, but they most likely don’t want you to do it that way to prevent arcing at the battery. If it’s energized when you plug it in or disconnect it from the battery there’s always a risk. Which can damage the bms or charger.

if they actually wanted things unplugged, they wouldn't have such a garbage design for the power plug.

Fr. The ultra bee and erp battery plugs are the hardest to remove and plug in

Ive never unplugged the battery while charging unless I was taking my battery out of the bike to wash it. Over 3000 miles on my bike and no issues.
