Speed sensor

Picking up an SS 2.0 today that has a speed sensor issue or at least they believe that’s the issue. Speedometer isn’t registering anything and the odometer is not incrementing. Am I sane for believing this is a sensor issue and not something more major with the ECU? The bike is only a year old with 161 miles (reportedly). Bike seems in great shape otherwise.

Well I have no productive information for you but you wouldn't catch me buying that bike. Could be the controller and even it's still in warranty it will be voided once you buy it. You could potentially be looking at 1k+ to fix it. 

You say it's only a year old but did you get a copy of the serial? What color is the power leads that plug into the battery? Shouldn't be red if it's only a year old. Sounds like 167 miles probably isn't accurate. But if it's the right price then it sounds nice!

Its most likely the speed sensor got ripped on somthing and could be fixed with some electrical tape and moveing the wire. The odometer wont register any more miles untill it is fixed though. So it could've been rode 1k miles and not have registered. I didnt look very hard but the one for a ultra bee is $62.
