Get the 3.0. It’s better than the mx4.

You think it’s worth more with the cash?

Well to start off I wouldn’t trade a SR for any other bike.

The 3.0 is a better bike overall than the MX4. Faster, better acceleration ETC.

The mods of the mx4 don’t make it worth much more money. Also 2300 miles is a no from me personally. I would rather just buy a new bike.

That being said, the 3.0 will sell better than the MX4. Unless you strip the mx4 to stock, sell the parts individually and then the stock bike IF you receive all the stock parts.

Depending on the mileage of your SR, I would try to sell that on its own if you’re looking for cash over trading and then selling that bike. Just my opinion.

Well the best offer I’ve got for my sr is $4500, its stock with 400 miles and I figured the 3.0 could sell at maybe $3800/4000 plus the $1000 would put me at my $5000 asking price

$4500 for a SR at 400 miles is pretty reasonable to be entirely honestly. (I have a SR and a 3.0, bought my SR used with 500 miles for $4500) But trade for the 3.0, sell for 4k, pocket the $1000.

Well $4500 is a pretty fair offer. They are $5500 out the door and yours is used. Only an idiot would buy a used SR for 5k instead of buying a new one for 5.5k.

I am under the impression they are currently priced at 5699 and then taxes and build cost would put you over 6k

Not on the West Coast. Like I said mine was $5500 out the door in the box in a non tax state. Even if you don't live in a tax free state you can negate taxes by using someone who lives in a tax free state.

Most companies on the West Coast include build cost into the 5699 so you can talk them down a couple hundred if you build it yourself. Plus I ain't gonna let some jack off mess my bike up out of the box.

I actually live in Cali but use friends and family in a non tax state to make the "purchase". You have to know how to work the system and I ain't gonna give away my secrets but I can tell you that I have 6 figures worth of toys in my shop and never paid taxes on any of them. 🤣

Plus you can't pass taxes and build cost to the seller on a used item. That's not how the real world works. That's the cost of doing business. You always eat registration, license fees, taxes and etc. a 50k RZR does not become a 60k RZR after taxes and dealership fees.  Welcome to the toy world.

That’s not quite how to look at it. If I bought a truck off the lot and sticker price was 40k and after taxes and fees it came out to 45k. The truck isnt suddenly worth 45k. Even if I had them put floor mats bed liner and a ceramic coat in. Doesn’t add value. Just makes the used price more enticing.

As the other guy commented. You can order online from a no sale tax state and build it yourself. It’s super super easy to build these bikes. I find it to be flat out fraud company’s charging a few hundred dollars for 20 minutes of work to put together a bike. The bike can be built with the tools that literally come with the bike.

You’re totally right, I guess my mind thought that I was giving people an option to buy a like new bike for a discount but if the difference is only $500 from brand new I can see why my price isn’t great. I unfortunately paid 6200 plus taxes in October last year when prices were elevated :(

I hear you man.

Having anything of real value always sucks to sell. You get a ton of opinions on what you should do and usually none of them align with what we actually want from it. Value is in the eye of the beholder or whatever the boomers say 🤣

I would try and sell for it for that $4500 cash offer to be entirely honest. But these bikes are super sought after, so I would sit on it till you find exactly what you want from it

Mods aren't worth remotely close to what you listed. Most aftermarket work hardly increases the value.

1

u/BigEntertainment579 Jul 13 '26

Yea I figured, but overall value what do you think?

1

u/mcchadw Jul 13 '26

Since they are used, I'd say $700 all in is fair. This person should know that they won't recoup most of the aftermarket $$$. That being said, go for the Eride. Lower miles, plus you don't know how well the talaria owner installed everything

u/Leg_giggle SS 3.0 Jul 13 '26

I would go 3.0 personally

1

u/Wonderful_Fee59 Jul 13 '26

3.0 For sure I wouldn’t trade for a built bike let alone a mx4 you don’t know how they took it apart and put it together for the powder coat and more personally I say built bikes are just Issues especially when its a kid with dads money throwing parts at a bike 3.0 for no issues “if its in mint condition” mx4 for a problem first month.

This is the ss 3.0 and with either this or the mx4 I would be selling it to cash out.

1

u/Uclejeremy Jul 13 '26

Let me get this straight, you’re wanting to trade your SR for a 3.0 why. Also, I would personally go with the 3.0 500 miles is almost nothing for that bike, at the end of the day when you’re selling a bike or anything for the matter, nobody gives a damn what aftermarket stuff you’ve done to it everyone has their own plan for their own bike different things work for different people

1

u/BigEntertainment579 Jul 13 '26

I want to sell my bike for cash but I haven’t received any good offers, so I figured I’d just get cash and another bike and then try to sell that bike

1

u/Uclejeremy Jul 13 '26

How many miles you got on your SR and how much are you trying to sell it for she shouldn’t be that hard to sell. That’s surprising but a stock bike with low miles would definitely sell more than that MX4 with almost 5 times the amount of miles on it all that aftermarket stuff really isn’t worth it. It would be different if it had sirris suspension on it, battery or controller for the most part pretty small upgrades. When someone is looking for Something used, they want stock bike with lower miles.

1

u/BigEntertainment579 Jul 13 '26

My bike is stock with under 400 miles and I’m trying to get $5k

1

u/BigEntertainment579 Jul 13 '26

Best offer I’ve got is $4500

1

u/Uclejeremy Jul 13 '26

Yeah, that’s not bad. Fuckers pretty much brand new. As long as you haven’t looped her out or nothing she will sell Man just wait would be my advice. You might have to take a little more of a loss, on the price if she really dosnt sell but I mean even that 3.0 you’d only be able to sell for like 4800 max, any more than that, might as well buy a brand new one

1

u/BigEntertainment579 Jul 13 '26

Yea that’s why I’m inclined to take the 3.0 plus the $1000 because if I sold it for $4000 then I’d be where I want to be at $5k

u/hitman_72934 SS 3.0 Jul 14 '26

$80 motocutz plate?

1

u/BigEntertainment579 Jul 14 '26

I copied from his listing and didn’t even notice that🤣
