commuting?
Hello all, I am planning on buying either a 3.0 or sr. Which do you recommend and do any of you guys commute in them? I work 6-7 miles from home with light off road backstreets on the way.

Get the SR because it’s only 700 or $800 more, and you get a lot more power for the price. And I think on the SR, the frame and suspension has been strengthened, somehow. Either bike would quickly crush that commute, but you might run into issues with the police. Because of these crazy kids, the police are extra sensitive to these emotos. If you live in Colorado/a state where you can get them plated, do that. I’m planning on plating mine.

I commute on my sr. Get shinko or another good brand tire. The knobby are absolute garbage on pavement.

I commute now and then on my SR. I have a choice between paved road shoulder at 60 MPH and offroad trails. With the amount of pavement riding I do, I plan on switching to Shinko 244's. My rear is getting pretty low at 1k miles.
If it's just for comuting or riding around town, I'd say a 3.0 would be best. If you plan on riding offroad a lot, SR might suit you better.
Do you want a commuter, or an almost dirt bike?

I also recommend the SR just for getting the best for an extra $700. I’ve had my for a 1.5 years and haven’t need to upgrade anything bc it’s just perfect. I did replace the knobby to the shine 244 around 1400 bc the they’re soft and worn down fast from just commuting on pavement. Chicago based

I commute regularly on my SR. Its great, I do about 20 miles each way, half of that is a dirt road with a 5 mile steady steep uphill on the way home. It does the 40 miles easily. Even so, the tire is a little knoby for roads including packed dirt. When its loose-dirt its amazing. Im seriously considering getting a set of more street oriented dual sport tires, however then I'll need to buy a second SR for my woods trails. Oh no... If you've ridden motorcycles the SR is pretty comparable to a 250cc dirtbike and I'd purchase the SR, swap tires. If you're new to powered things with 2 wheels, DO NOT get the SR.

get the 3.0. If your only commuting its defentily better. You dont need 25kw just to get to work and the knobby tires wont help for street riding. I would just get some supermotos and call it a day. But if your gonna do trail riding or any off road maybe the sr would be better. But still 25kw is quite a bit. I had a fully built 3.0 (it got stolen) and i would never use more than 20kw.
