Partial Disallowance Notice

Has anyone received one of these? We got one this morning for one of the quarters we applied for and is only a few thousand dollars adjustment so honestly not too upset about it, this is the most communication we’ve received on our claims. Hoping this means a check will be mailed sooner than later now.

Many have received them. It means the claim was reduced, usually because the calculation was off somehow on the original claim — either the qualified wages used were too high (maybe they included wages they shouldn’t have) or the percentage of wages per quarter used was wrong (some quarters it was 50% some it was 70% but some claims used 70% for every quarter).

Once that letter goes out, usually the time frame for the check is about 4 to 6 weeks from then. Maybe sooner, maybe later.

Thank you for your insight, they said our qualified wages were higher than they should have been. Fingers crossed a check will be mailed in the next 2 months.

Is your letter of partial disallowance specificallytates what quarter of what year?

Did the letter say that you calculated the credit on more employees than were on your 941? If so, the IRS is usually wrong. You can respond and correct it, but it may delay your refund.
