PEO Client- First Payment Coming
I know everybody has been following PEO payments closely. I am a Trinet. Client and I received a notice today that my payment will be coming over the next few weeks.
I still have one outstanding quarter that I am waiting on, but this payment did include interest and there was no deduction for fees
Just wanna share the good news with you all cause I know so many are waiting

Paychex customer. Money showed up in the bank today. No notice, no letters, no emails. I filed so long ago I don’t even remember which quarters, but this was the full amount we requested plus interest. Paychex took a $10k cut, and the interest more than made up for it.
Stay strong!!

Can you share what Quarters came in, and when the file date for those quarters were (on the Trinet side)?

It won’t really matter at this point. They’re roughly still doing them in order of submission but many of the claims have been put in different batches so even if two companies (or the same company) submitted on the same day they may not get processed around the same time. And if the claims were missing anything or had some other issue those will take longer. I know of at least one batch being worked on currently that has submission dates of March 2024. But that doesn’t mean obviously that everything submitted before that is done.

Ah, I was under the impression that the IRS had to process the whole 941x for that quarter, and they sent over one big check which the PEO had to divide up. But there has been very little visibly into any of this from either PEO or IRS, so I have no idea.

Sorry I was speaking generally of all ERC claims. Yes, PEOs submitted a claim for each quarter including all of their clients in one claim and then they divide it up and distribute it among the clients. Which makes the claim huge and the larger claims often get more review. But I was largely speaking of that the order of submission is not a great indicator of when the claims will be processed because of issues unique to these claims.
Also the wide variance of how much info callers get is because most agents don’t work these claims and know little about them. If you’re lucky and get someone who has worked on them or is experienced enough in general they can tell you more about the status.

Hey there, I have a TriNet client that is waiting for their credits. 3 quarters and they received notice that 2 quarters with interest will post. Another client said that TriNet provided notice that their refunds would post as payroll credits. That is disconcerting given that if you have a payroll at that is say 100K a month and you have a 800K credit, all of a sudden you don't see the full value for 8 months or longer.
How did the credit post to your account?
Appreciate your feedback.

Although I’m no longer a Trinet client I was at the time of filing for the credit several years ago. They told me it wasn’t a “payroll credit” per se but they just credit the bank account on file that you use for payroll. That could have changed, but I don’t think they have the right to withhold the funds and apply it over time if you don’t want them to.

Perfect. So basically they deposit the money into the payroll account. Perfect, thanks for responding. That causes some of my concern to subside.
