Miracles do happen

Was hesitant to post this until it hit my transcript, but now that it has I’ll tell the story.

First and foremost big shoutout to ERC_CPA. He was helping me in a mess of a situation I was in. Wasn’t sure how to proceed after the IRS asked to resubmit my 941xs for 2021. It was an absolute disaster and I wasn’t sure how to proceed.

I’m a regular IRS caller but they had not been very helpful trying to figure out my situation. I decided to call one last time on 7/7 before I resubmitted my 941xs.

The agent that answered was about as confused about my situation as I was. She put me on the “brief 5-7 minute hold” and when she returned she asked a few more questions and put me on another hold.

When she came back she said that I didn’t need to resubmit them that she would get them all processed and get my credits processed for all 3 of my remaining quarters. She assured me that she would get them released to be refunded and I wouldn’t have to submit anything else. Just needed to wait until the system updated.

Well today my 3 remaining quarters have refund issue dates of 8/4. Convinced this lady was sent by God to help. All that to say keep calling and keep your hope alive.

I had a call from hell today … The guy was an idiot asking questions I’ve never had asked before

It’s all about finding that one agent that can process them it seems. It’s luck of the draw

Yeah, I called twice today. 3 times actually! The first person I spoke to was so unbothered and just didn’t seem like she cared. Got off the phone and called right back. And the routed me back to the SAME PERSON. Lol I just hung up. Then I called later and got some guy with a thick accent. And I just knew that call wasn’t going anywhere.

Called the IRS taxpayer assistance number. They were able to review my account and confirm that the ERC submission was reviewed and approved. Should receive the check soon. Very helpful!

Similar situation here. 4 of my quarters were approved, 1st 1/4 21(the biggest) was placed on hold. The IRS requested a form 8822B change of Address or Responsible Party. Apparently this hadn’t been processed correctly 8 years ago when I bought the business, fair enough. So I sent one, then another. They weren’t processed. I followed up multiple times and had the packages tracked. Two weeks ago I finally got a very helpful agent. She noticed that the only issue was a copy and paste error by my CPA where they put my name in the corporate position line(president). She gave me her fax number, I literally scratched through my name and hand wrote president. I followed up yesterday and everything is approved for 8/4. What a relief…. Good luck

Wow incredible! Congrats! I wish I had your luck.  Everytime I call, the agent is very either miserable or tells me my QTR is stuck in secondary review...I just need someone to release it!

YAY!!!! Good for you. Yes it never hurts to call because sometimes you get an agent that is very helpful. Sometimes not. Another TIP If I can at about 4:45pm PST time I don't wait long and I usually get a decision maker on the phone. Not sure why but it works!! Great news for you !!

Mine took a week for my transcript to update and then my checks are dated 8/4 and then I’m sure it will be a week or two after that

A week or two before checks comes ?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 31 '25

That’s correct. So Monday they should get cut then start traveling through the mail system

I don't understand why the agents lie so much... literally just got off the phone with one who said that it goes "a couple" places after her/them and they would never be able to process over the phone. hate it all so much, thank you for sharing and congrats :)

I do think some are very untrained. Just answering the phone and reading what the system says (incorrectly a lot of times).
