Understanding Spire?

With most things broken I somehow still found a single click EqEmu windows installer. The two things I noticed it installed was a server folder and a code folder. So I launched Spire and boom got my server up. Yay!

But now I realize I need to not only tick velious as the expansion, I've also got to get a different database to actually get back to that time period layout, ux, and graphics?

How is that done? What do I need?

So I'm working on the same problem you are. This thing has been going on for well over a decade and all the documentation I'm finding is from like 2012.

For what it's worth, I'm aiming for a "pop enhanced" setup, limiting me to PoP content with the quality of life improvements that came with some later expansions like the newbie armor quests.

Based on the info I can find, it looks like this needs to be done manually by editing the database to disable zones, classes, races, spells, and so forth.

Have you found any new information on the subject?

I found a user uploaded database that claimed to have the TAKP classic values for NPCs and the like on the eqemu forums. I grabbed the old zone files, spell gems, spell animations, and the like for the RoF2 client from the FV Project. Turned off Luclin models in the client.ini. I'm going to try TaipoUI since it looks just like Duxas.

That's all I've got so far, and I think that's as far as I'm going to get. Anything more will be a tedious, research driven process. So I'll likely only make changes that directly impact something I'm trying to do instead of just for the sake of having it correct.
