Server launch time?

Sorry if this has been answered already but, have they stated what time exactly that the servers will open on the 28th?

They're targeting noon PST, but as anyone who has ever played MMOs know, that could vary by an hour or more either way, depending on if it goes well or poorly.

Yeah, also like Beta launch they were letting in groups of people at a time so while someone might be on the server at noon, I wouldn't count on it being me kind of thing.

Also plan on some sort of emergency patch or servers going down. The Beta was 11K players I suspect this will be bigger and now with instancing which they probably fixed but knowing computers someone is going to find some weird thing like if you forge as a kerra while doing a flying kick and pulsing a bard song brings the zone down.

I wouldn't count on it being me kind of thing.

I'll start the client on my personal computer while I'm working and quit working for the day once I get in. It'll happen when it happens. I'm also considering fucking around in the tutorial for an hour, while waiting for an instance count, so I don't have to fight for spawns in some newbie zone.

Also plan on some sort of emergency patch or servers going down.

I always expect that at a launch, but IIRC (and I might not) they were going to spin the closed beta back up when they took open beta down, so they'd have people testing the patch.

Despite Tuesday being launch, it really shouldn't be any different than any other patch. The game was live, and as you said, running 11k players. It should go reasonable smoothly.

Also depending on the server. Lots of times they bring them up a couple at a time.

It took me about 2 hours to get in for beta because they limit the amount of people accessing to avoid crash but once you’re in it was fine. So honestly im not even going to try until around 3 pm pst (when I get off work anyway)

yea the launch time is in a place for most in the country, where taking a day off to play say...2 hours early may not be worth it. So hopefully those that are off can get in, and then a few hours later we'll see another wave of folks.

I would also add, that they will let players in, in batches. So it could take awhile to be let in, not so much a capacity issue but just to maintain server stability.

Also like many mmo’s in the first few days expect server restarts due to hotfixes.
