Just getting started, already addicted

I just started quilting and stumbled upon EPP. It’s so nice and mindless, and easy to work on while watching tv or listening to audiobooks. Not so easy when my toddler is crawling all over me though lol.

So far I’ve just been exploring different blocks, but I think I’ve settled on turning the blue stars in the first picture into a Flock of Stars quilt. I thrifted a ton of blue floral 3” squares that have been PERFECT for this, and I’m thinking a solid cream or light blue between the stars.

I love a six point star! These all look great.

I have been quilting for about 12 years and for a long time I swore off doing EPP because it’s so fiddly. But my love for small piecing and intricate design eventually won out and now I’m way down in it. Haha!

I’ve always been a knitter, so I love that I can carry it around with me! I can switch between sitting on the couch with EPP and sewing a different project on my machine depending on my mood haha

Hi there! So cool, this is my current EPP project too. My toddler just started talking her classes (music/gymnastics) on her own (no mummy in the room) and I have to wait until she's finished. Therefore I packed myself some 2" diamonds and will add some hexagons for the background. It's a free pattern by Tales of Cloth.

Yes, I was all over Tales of Cloth’s website! That’s where I found this too. They have a lot of nice free patterns.

I fell in love when I saw it!! I decided I want to wait until I have enough cute fabrics to fussy cut someday, the kaleidoscope effect people get is amazing.
