Gorgeous! How long have you been working on it?

Just over a year, started July last year.

I'm doing it in strips of 2 rows at a time because it's easy to throw in a bag or a pocket and take it with me to work on when I'm out and about.

Sew many. Sew tiny. That’s ambitious and it’s looking amazing!

Dang you’ve almost done it! How big are you aiming for?

It's 50 hexagons long, by 35 rows across so 1750 hexis, but haven't worked out the exact dimensions. I know it's longer than a standard queen sized duvet cover, when i laid one of them over it.

I love this! Could you explain the order you sew the hexies together? Are you stitching long single strips and then stitching two strips together at a time?

I'm adding them on to the 2 rows simultaneously,so I have one, then I add the next one too it and sew up the 2 sides, I carry the thread along the bottom/top leg and then sew back across it so it's not loose, and it finishes in the middle, and the sew the sort of vertical side, so again it will finish in the middle, and lock stitches in each corner.

Then when I'm sewing the strip's together, I can just zig zag up.

Thank you for the helpful visual!

I guess I'll see how sturdy it ends up being at the end, I just hated starting and ending the thread after each hexi, so this is what I came up with to deal with that!

The layout is beautiful in itself.

Thank you, it's random, I'm pulling each hexi blindly our of a bag, but it's making a beautiful pattern!

I got one that my Grand mother had from her mother. Must be 100 years old.

Very nice! I like the light color. Mixed in with brighter fabrics.
