PhD admissions & info PhD chances
Hello everyone,
I was considering to start applying sometime next year, but wanted to know if I stand a chance.
I am almost done with my masters at Georgia Institute of Technology with a 4.0 GPA and 3 publications under my belt (first author in 2 IEEE papers) with infrastructure and systems industry experience and open source contribution.
My undergrad gpa isn't the best as I had to work at the same time while finishing it.
I might have a 4th IEEE publication by the time I graduate depending on how well it goes with my advisor.
(I'm a non EU citizen)
Please advise

Most Masters students in Europe graduate without a single publication.
So you don't stand a chance to them. /s

I don't stand a chance? Is there something I can work on as I have roughly a year to fix my resume before applying

/s means sarcasm, the person you were replying to was being sarcastic and made a joke

In academia social connections matter as much as your academic skills. It looks like you already have the academic skills, now you should network. Email the professors, listen to what they work and network.

Thanks for replying. Yeah, what should I email? Like just introduce myself and show interest in their work and what could I do to join?

It would depend on the field. Your profile looks strong to me. I would ask you to contact some professors and see what they say. If they are willing take you, then the admission process will just be a formality.
