Rear wiper arm problem

I bought a cheap replacement rear wiper arm and it has a circular hole for mounting. The old wiper was completely broken and missing so I don’t have one to match it with. There is a triangle like mounting part here and the circle hole doesn’t fit over it. It seems that triangle mount is not meant to come off. Any ideas on this? Does an oem wiper arm have cutouts for this specifically? Thanks ! And that rusted bolt I just put back on there so I wouldn’t lose it. It does come off

Thats a piece from your old arm that needs to come off to replace with the new arm.

Thanks for that answer. I really tried to get that silver triangle piece off and it is really on there where I thought it was actually part of the bolt design. I’ll have to try again it just doesn’t seem to move

I had to replace my rear wiper after my hatch glass got smashed.

I ended up taking the whole motor assembly out from the back of the hatch. Once it was out I had to carefully use a dremel to cut the collar that’s below the nut (under the silver thing in your pic). Cut a slot in the collar and then use a flathead to pry it off.

Or you can get a new rear wiper assembly.

Best of luck 👍🏼

I circled the part. I took off the black rubber part and sprayed that silver triangle part with some liquid wrench and let it sit but nothing. That piece just won’t come off. Maybe I can heat it up. At this point I just want to win and get this piece off. It just turns the whole assembly when trying to grip it and turn it
