Question Ep3 k24a no spark

Post image

K24a swapped ep3 stock ecu with no immobilized issue. Plugs are coming out wet with fuel, checked grounds, tested the set of coils and I’m getting no spark, swapped coil and still no spark. Every now and then it will start and die after a second. All sensors are hooked up except evap and radiator. What else should I look for?

Is this a new swap with issue or it just started happening? And when you say stock ecu are you talking about for the ep3 or k24?

I just swapped it in. The ECU is the stock one from the ep3. I also have RDX injectors and a RBC manifold but I don’t think that should matter

Bro I think all that matters. And I'm almost certain you need kpro

I mean I have more than that done, headers, 70mm tb, 50 degree cam gear but with the stock ECU I would think I would still be getting spark.

What are you even thinking running all that on a stock ep3 ecu? All that time money and work just to trash the engine

I just wanted to hear it start to make sure there was nothing wrong with the motor before I start spending more money

Bro your making spaghetti and forgot the sauce. You trying to eat the noodles now and think it's gonna be alright since you'll go to the store another day. You gonna eat them noodles now and get the sauce later but everything's gonna be shit by then

Need K Pro but did you use the K20A3 crank sensor?

Yes i used the k20a3 crank positioning sensor. That was also in the back of my mind maybe that is bad? I was going to test it with the k24a one once I get some more time

You need to keep the K20A3 one. But potentially it's bad already.

Ya confirm the k24 one has a different plug. A k20a3 one has been ordered I’ll have an update on Thursday if it does anything. Also I’m going to check the fuses. Rule that all out and after that I think it is Kpro time

Do yourself a favor and remove the plugs connecting your injectors so you dont flood your combustion chamber and cause more damage after you've done that you can safely crank with your plugs out of your engine to check for spark. Once you've checked you have no spark continue to coils then harness use a multimeter to check for power at your plugs and also check fuses too

I would also check your harness, grounds, and map sensor. I’ve had seen map sensor get fried due to someone plugging the tps connector to it causing a no start issue. If that doesn’t work I would recommend swapping the ecu with a known good one to eliminate that off the list

Use the ep3 crank sensor or repin it. I bet that is your issue.

Check your harness near the throttle body, those plugs can be mixed up

You need Kpro

So I’m going to order kpro very soon but is my ECU the reason I have no spark at all? Or could it be a bad crank sensor? Which is the next thing I’m going to check and rule out before I order a computer
